I’m wondering if we are trying to move aggressively so that we don’t give Chelsea time to make a bid because they need to focus on outs first so maybe they aren’t in a position to make a bid yet.

That last bit is nonsense, or had better be. I know we've raised the level of stupidity in recent weeks but an option to buy would be quite moment.

Yep. I'm even at the point where I think he used the phrase 'without option to buy' instead of something else in order to gets more engagement through misunderstanding. But I realise I'm just twitching at this point.
