Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If I had a choice out of MGW and Eze or Simons. Id choose Simons. All's well that ends well.

Now for the left winger.
Honestly, I don't know THAT much about Simons. Bundesliga is a hit or miss. For every Son and De Bruyne, there's a Werner or Sancho. I'd still pick MGW - Eze - Simons, but that's probably my Premier League bias speaking.

(As for the record, Akliouche and especially Paz are better than the 2 mentioned in my opinion, as I said I don't know much about Simons, and Rogers is the best of the lot).

And you all laughed when I started the Simons thread yesterday.

Nothing personal fella, we all have transfer PTSD. None of us wanted more heartbreak.

Lookman would be a great option for the left sided spot.
That would really be an admission that we screwed up signing Tel.

Edit: The way I see it we have at least 2 types of player for each of the forward positions now.

Dribbly winger = Kudus / Odobert / Simons
Non-dribbly winger (less creativity, more inside forward play) = Johnson / Tel
Striker = Richy / Solanke
#10 = Simons / Maddison / Kulusevski (or not play with a specialist 10 and play Sarr there to drive transitions which is reallythe obly alternate to Simons whilst Maddison and Kulu are injured).

Against park th ebus teams we could play a trio of Kudus, Simons and Odobert behind the CF and let them all swap places an ddrift where th egaps are.

Savinho on top of the other signings would take this window to a 10 right?

Still badly need left sided defensive cover (hoping the Vuskovic loan going through means that’s on the way).

Also still have misgivings about the process — doesn’t seem like we had a real plan or underlying recruitment strategy other than bouncing from obvious, high profile target to obvious, high profile target.

But yes, in terms of where the squad was at the start of the summer and where it is now (or hopefully will be after the next 72 hours), I am very pleased with the outcomes.

Admin Admin what time you unlocking the Simons thread? I think it should be locked until we get the official announcement from the club!!!

Pep not blocking it, some influential Board member (literally) is....allegedly.
I think Pep has lost his aura and the board are now not allowing him to allow players to leave,

Romano has gone hard. He knows he's looked a bit of a mug a few times this window.
There'd be no way back for his reputation if this isn't true IMO.
