Simons would be a massive signing, love watching this kid play as he's gutsy and works hard, versatile and has incredible technical ability. LW/RW or a 10 he has the lot.

He makes Johnson better because he gets him more goals.

He makes Odobert better because he has to compete with him.

He makes Kudus better because he doesn’t have to be the only player who can keep the ball.

He makes Romero better because he knows he wasn’t sold a load of shit and the club is signing players who are on his level.

He makes the academy kids better because they have someone to aspire to.

Safe to say, I’m pretty fucking happy about this one.
Not to mention Madders and Kulu when they come back.

Tbh I was planning to take another long break. There’s only so much whinging I can do before I piss myself off and Simons was the one player I wanted us to sign at the start of the window. The obvious Chelsea knife in the back was right there like a fluorescent green dildo dangling from the ceiling.

But some fucking how, they actually signed him and hats off. Never been happier to say I was wrong about the club, they pulled it off this time.

This is the biggest signing this club has made since possibly Klinsmann. Rafa was incredible but his career was on the opposite trajectory. Simons is like signing him when Real did. Above MGW and Eze, this is the best 10 we could possibly have signed this summer.
Help me out Richard Arlison Richard Arlison

I confess I have not seen much of Simons but when I have seen him in the odd game he has never stood out or struck me as top draw player. Granted, I have probably seen games when he's been below par but I do worry he has had a few clubs now and still only 22. What sort of player is he? Modric, De Bruyne, Kaka, Foden. I'm struggling to zero in on what puts him ahead of MGW and Eze who for me are players I could see moving the dial for us.

Still badly need left sided defensive cover (hoping the Vuskovic loan going through means that’s on the way).

Also still have misgivings about the process — doesn’t seem like we had a real plan or underlying recruitment strategy other than bouncing from obvious, high profile target to obvious, high profile target.

But yes, in terms of where the squad was at the start of the summer and where it is now (or hopefully will be after the next 72 hours), I am very pleased with the outcomes.
Do you mean a left back or left sided centre back? My view is Romero can play there and Danso right side. I think we need another FB/CB but Soence’s form means we absolutely don’t need a LB

Absolutely delighted for you. You manifested this one.

Can’t believe we got here.

What a day.

There’s no way I’m not getting on a plane to a couple of games this season.

I understand those that will say this is the minimum a club like Spurs should be doing but for me, whether or not they fell forwards into it or not, this is the club really making an effort to win.

7 year contract and signing a player on the same money as your top earners. That is conviction ambition

I wonder if the prospect of joing Kudus, Simons, Palhinha and Richarlison forces Savinho's mind to kick up a stink at City today.

Dude knows he's going to be benched for the majority of the season at City so must be chomping at the bit.

Richarlison
Savinho Simons Kudus
Palhahina Bentancur
Spence VDV Romero Porro
Vicario

And that's with Sarr, Udoggie, Danso, Solanke, Johnson, Tel, Odobert all sitting on the bench fighting to get on.

I mean.......you'd go into most games thinking you had a chance wouldn't you.
Just think if the tactical flexibility that squad gives you. Even more so when Maddison and Kulusevski are fit!

We had 4 major gaps in the squad when the window started and one that developed when Maddison got injured.

Three have been filled with quality, would love to fill the last two gaps but perhaps a little greedy....

RW - Kudus
AMC - Simons
DM - Palhinha
LW - ???
LCB / LB - ???
Palinha cannot play 60 games this season so we are terribly short there in centre midfield. We have only three senior plays. Please dont propose the kids on the bench as worthy cover. They are not.
