Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We need a stronger bench if our youngsters don't really step up up this season.

I'm not being negative here, I'm genuine refreshed and excited about Spurs for the next season and beyond at last.
But I will not be letting Levy off the hook, or performing a sudden heel turn and liking him. We could have done all of this decades ago.
We could have done some of the business/work from the last week months ago.
The man is a prat.
I agree it shouldn't have taken this long but I'm happy we have arrived here. The trajectory should only be up now.

Next season for example:

Vic
Porro - Romero - VDV - Spence
Pauline
Sarr - Simons
Kudus - Richy - Lookman

Kinsky
Akanji - Danso - Vuskovic - Udogie
Bentancur
Bergvall - Maddison
Johnson - Solanke - Odobert
Kulu, Gray, Moore, Tel still in the mix too.

That's two very strong teams.

To be fair, West Ham supporters probably would have said the same thing about Kudus last season.

Maybe a change of scenery would do Lookman good.

Sesame Street Idk GIF
Since Kudus' scenery was basically a purple carpet and a few thousand people about 400 yards away, almost anything would be an improvement.

Whether it's true or not I don't know... But this stuff from some journalists about us agreeing to a significant sell on clause with Leipzig is good news I think.. Often when we've been signing young players, there's been the narrative from some that we're doing it to increase their value to sell them on at some point .

If we're willingly surrendering a big portion of a future fee,, then the money from selling him isn't a priority. Having him play for us for a long time is.
GREAT news if it is true.
Folk who never see the bigger picture wouldn't understand, of course, but a sell on clause absolutely reduces the likelihood of the club cashing in if the player excels.
It also adds a little fuel to rumours that major investment / full takeover could be on the horizon because, as you correctly touched on, it's completely out of character for the current set up.

Would like to see it be the norm to be honest. Get tired of seeing nonsense from the press and pundits like "Man City got Haaland for 50 million" whenever a lesser striker moves for more money (i.e, Solanke). Completely ignoring that including wages and agents fees, Haaland would've ended up as one of the most expensive transfers of all time.

I do think he’s better than Eze and it’s an amazing signing but I also really really wish people would stop using stat comparison graphs on players performing in different fucking leagues. The Bundesliga isn’t half as good or competitive as the premier league.

Stat graph comparisons make sense between players in the same league playing similar roles and probably only really for similar level teams as well.
