However, on the face of it, they did stick by Paqueta when the noise was that he was nailed on to get a life time ban. And for him to then refuse to play, so he can push for a move, now he's got that situation out from around his neck. It feels not on.

If the rumours are true that Villa are willing to sell Rodgers (I dobut Villa will let him go) and he can be gotten for around £80m+ I much rather buy him and play him as an "emergency" CF than splash £60m on Wissa (who's 29)...

Id rather buy quality wide forwards or attacking mid than an average forward like Wissa. Johnson is average and scores goals, no point buying Wissa who is less than average but scores a few goals.

I believe Frank has said he'll be fine after the International break, so I'm inclined to think we're fine there. He may be underplaying it so we don't get taken advantage of, but I guess we'll see if that's true or not over the next couple of days.

If he'll be fine, then it's fine.

My position on this is if there's a suspected problem that's looking like it might be recurring, we need to get ahead of it and must act.

That's the responsible thing to do.

Having a difference of opinion on a young and highly rated player. As a comparison, Kane was 22 before he made his mark with us. Forget about the "we didn't pay £40M for Kane tosh, we're talking about the player here, he's only 20.

Kane showed so little for us at that same age, there were a high proportion of fans saying he was destined for a career in the lower leagues.

Fast forward to 2025 and we have another talented youngster being written off in the same way.

Spurs kept faith with Kane because they saw his intelligence and his desire to improve. I understand that Tel shows those same attributes.

I believe this kid is going to make a lot of people eat a lot of humble pie.
