An apology to Mookistar Mookistar

And as you can see the future can you off the top of your head give me six numbers for the Euro millions please. Your Red card is rescinded.

Expecting two in: striker/LWF and CB

I feel we needed a more creative, dribbly winger and we won't get one.

If we sign Muani, my worry is our forwards will be all quite similar: Muani, Johnson, Tel. I'd prefer a better version of Odobert which is what we needed last summer and we still need.

Wouldn't be against an Odobert loan or sale for the right price. Kid's clearly got bags of talent but he needs consistent minutes to have any chance of improving and meeting his potential. Not sure he's gonna get that here and we could really use a CL quality left sided attacker so we don't have to start Johnson there too often. To me Odobert looks at least a season or two away from being what we need in that position and I dunno if we'll have the patience to let him develop.

The signing of him, Tel, Yang when we already had Moore does make me wonder WTF the recruitment team are thinking when it comes to player pathways (same goes for us signing shitloads of CBs at once).

At Brentford they have a guy who specifically works on that: making sure every signing has a long term pathway to minutes in the first team. We just seem to sign a bunch of promising players regardless of position and hope for the best. Works for Chelsea I guess but we haven't done the same deal with the devil and are shite at selling.

If we do let him go obviously we need to sign an upgrade otherwise though, or else we're utterly insane.

Absolutely spot on.

I see absolute zero strategic thinking. It is all reactive and chaotic.
I can understand Odobert signing. I can understand Tel loan (we were short on players and he seemed massive talent before). Ok Yang might be pit of a punt. But for the love of God - after Sonny leaving, I do not understand making Tel permanent. He showed next to nothing and it was clear that we needed player with instant impact on that front.

Then another thing is with midfield. We clearly needed #6 and this was addressed with Palhinha. But after Bissouma situation becoming what it is right now, Madders injury and Kulusevski update - why have we not targeted another ball-playing CM? Right now we just cannot put out balanced CM trio if we wanted. At very least - why couldn't we have kept Donley around for that role, specially given that he could provide potentially some cover for fullback position as well? I just don't get any of it.

Maybe in the olden days when surgery was more invasive, but it’s so much more advanced now that it’s almost better to be decisive. Think we are not at the cutting edge of sports science and haven’t been for a while.
I would agree. The stupid thing is they have all the equipment to be. It is another case where we look to save a penny but being pound stupid. The problem is players and manager are always going to make the choice that makes them more likely to play. Madders rushed back for the Super Cup and did his ACL instead of a slow methodical recovery.

Juventus deal fro Muani was buy now pay later, means we could do the same, defer the cost to next years accounts

Which, I would think, wouldnt be as limiting as you might expect right now

My bet is Muani and Lookman right now, Lookman deal was allegedly ready to go yesterday - we just needed to pull the trigger (and relatively cheap as well)

Nah, id be very suprised if we sign a soon to be 27 year old and a soon to be 28 year old on long term contracts.

Would clog us right up going into future windows.
