Errr. ..maybe not....but perhaps the Thousands protesting last season, the associated mass media coverage across all reputable channels such as the BBC, and the ever present threat of them resurfacing in the future probably had more impact than the likes Bill from Madrid or Cockney Ben from Paris wiping his arse and kissing his feet every night and day...

Imagine a club being run by ENIC with zero pressure from the fans....

Good grief
How many of these protests have you attended, John?

For example, he claimed we were 8/11 odds of signing Morgan Rogers yesterday. Three times I asked him where he'd got that from, guess what? Silence. Just a complete and utter lier, there's no other word for it. And of course utterly disingenuous with any opinions on how we operate as a club - expectations expressed that we will be useless, followed by disappointment that we've not hit ludicrously high standards - how can it possibly be both?

I'm fine with people being disappointed after the MGW and Eze messes, but anyone who fails to recognise that we've turned it around and actually now had a very good window is either just being a dick for sake of hating on the board, or is just an incredibly miserable negative person who will never see good or optimism in anything. God only knows what such people must be like in real life. :/

Recognising that it's pretty much impossible / unheard of to fill all holes and requirements in a single window, two weeks ago ours was maybe 6/10 - now surely 8/10 at least (recent key injuries don't help the squad of course, but you can't cover everything, injuries are not the fault of the recruitment team).
Probably 7.5/10

Palhinha - Pretty limited footballer who cannot play against teams who press us or sit in a low block to frustrate us. That make him useful for about a 10-12 games. I will be dissapointed if we confirm his loan. 5/10
Kudus - I wasn't keen on him based on last season but he has started well. Looks strong and will definitely cause teams problems. Price pretty reasonable too when you consider what other players are going for. 7/10
Simons - I don't think anyone can argue that Simons and RKM were not our first choices. I haven't see much of Simons but Richard Arlison Richard Arlison thinks he is going to ball so I'll give a score based on his knowledge of the player. 9/10
RKM - Good loan signing. Strong, direct, good finisher. Slightly surprised we were able to nab him. One year rental so pretty risk free if he doesn't work out. That should hopefully encourage him to perform because he will be 27 in December and probably only has one more big contract left in him 9/10.

Summary - Encouraging window. Some very good attacking additions but why did we not do these deals earlier. It's so frustrating to do everything a few days / hours before the window. But time to move on. I don't think we've had this much attacking talent in a long time so up to the coaching staff now to put them in position to win.

Was their player of the season I think?

Levy sanctioned close to £120m on Odobert Tel and Johnson. He’s basically telling Frank “work it out”. That’s why we hired him, he won’t complain like Conte and Jose did.

I do think both Tel and Odders have talent and could make the spot their own in a best case scenario. But it’s very clear the club isn’t looking to compete this season, they’re targeting 27/28.

Too often, It’s just one level of shite being replaced by another. We just go round in circles every year. Danso is ok though, I’d give him a pass.
I've always thought the same and whilst I have been underwhelmed with a lot of players we have signed over the years, even before they kicked a ball for us, our fans seemed to get excited about them and almost made excuses for them. e.g. Solomon being signed, for me was a "WTF" moment. But loads of fans seemed happy with it. Same with Odobert and many others. Honestly, I didn't fancy Solanke either and still don't. Until we start buying players that other clubs would love you have, like Simons, then we aren't going to compete with them.

We definitely went in for Savihno so whoever is option B may not be what Frank sees as an improvement to what he has available to him now. Lookman is available but Tomas doesn’t seem interested.
