You do realise one it the first things he did when he came to Spurs was to invest heavily in the academy and build the best facilities in the world?
That was always the plan.
Unfortunately he's found, the same as many elsewhere, it's hard to grow talent. It's easier to churn vanilla players like Winks and Skipp out,use the money and reinvest that.
Especially with PSR and the golden ticket of "pure profit" now.
You won't see anyone, probably anywhere, succeed on their academy again. The odd Kane here or there is it. Even that will be rare now due to PSR.
I love our transfer window, well maybe not love but it turned out a hell of a lot better than I thought it would 2 weeks ago. Palhlinha and Kudus seem like they're a win. I like Danso and I'm glad he's staying. Simons and Tel are more prospective additions than world beaters right out of the gate but I think we have the right manager to find the sunny side of their potential. And RKM seems like a risk free endeavor, PSG seemed keen to let him go permanently so hopefully he works out great and we can find a way to sign him later. #glasshalffull

Overall i think we will have to be satisfied. I have a funny feeling the solanke injury scuppered our intended plans so muani on loan without a commitment is a decent save this late on.
Im glad that overall the players we targeted were of the right calibre. It is going to take time to build the team we need to compete and the last thing u want to do is add players now that you might know aren't cut out for what ur wanting to achieve and then once again have a bloated squad.
Im excited to see the impact simons will have and exactly how well we do this season will depend in his availability. You feel that without him we are more of a clunky side that lacks any guile. I think with him all the other attackers will look and perform better, even johnson because simons has that drive and ability to open up spaces drawing players out of position for others to benefit.
I like muani. Id almost say hes very similar to richy but abit better in nearly every metric and hes the perfect striker to have that will benefit from simons and kudus. Hes built for the pl.
Lastly im glad the paths of the young players have not been too blocked. Odobert, gray, bergvall, Tel will need gametime and next summer frank can make the decisions going forwards.
Based on the business we have done id be comfortable on predicting a 5th-8th finish which is ok providing we really look to to kick on with 2 or 3 top players next summer.

After last season’s nightmare and Romero and VDV’s injury record, I can’t believe we’ve added no more cover anywhere in the defence. Ben Davies will be playing CL at some point this season and it’s just not good enough.
