What signings have we made based on him abd his teams work. What did they have planned as targets. We waited all summer to go for eze and only after MADDs was injured. I reckon we got a tip off re mgw release clause. Kudus spam wanted to get rid so good cheaper player. Pauling’s on loan and waited all summer. Then Simons was just bcos chavs didn’t move for him so we took the opportunity. Kolo was deadline day loan. Those last two basically after we had played 3 games already so wouldn’t have been in the plan surely if there was one.
How is he wrong though?
Certainly with regards to Palhinha, Simons and Kolo Muani, they were opportunistic signings that would not have happened if it weren’t for circumstances.
Kudus the only one you could possibly argue to the contrary, but if the Spammers weren’t in such need for cash, would we have went balls to the wall for him and insisted it got done? I would be very sceptical.
No one is saying the fact they were opportunistic means they’re bad signings, indeed I would say Kudus and Simons are terrific additions, but to try and genuinely argue there was any real plan or process to our window/these signings in comparison to how other top 6 clubs go about their business is just ridiculous.
So that makes Austin our 2nd longest serving player.
And Sarr our 3rd longest, if my calculations are correct.
Why shouldn't we cherry pick players from clubs that cannot manage their finances.
Only three weeks ago Levy told Neville that in his opinion the current amount of money being spent by some clubs is unsustainable.
West Ham, Juve, and Villa ( though we didn't seriously look at any player from them) are classic examples.
The type of players Frank was looking for may have produced a few options from Lange, and Paratici, and some of those players may have been easier to prize away because of that clubs financial status.
To suggest that we set our tranfer plans around finacially challenged clubs truly is bollocks.

MGW is now set for life, his wife happy to stay close to family, Eze a Woolwich fan.
Shit happens, but in the case of Eze, we now have a 10, five years younger, far cheaper and in my humble opinion far, far quicker and more skilful.
Fate has a strange way or righting wrongs.
Time will tell, but i think we came out of losing both MGW and Eze in a good way.
As an observation, MGW was terrible on Sunday, and i mean terrible.
