It was an inevitable counter-ebb & flow to the successive exits of a number of older, high earners which went back to Lloris... Then Kane/Perisic and now Sonny/Werner.

It's not been a direct effort to increase the wage bill... Just like all the crap about Levy deliberately driving the wage bill down was nonsense too.
 
Simons and Kudus feeding passes into RKM does sound very promising. Richy/Odobert/Tel on the opposite wing isn't what I'd hoped for but it does give us versatility.

Shame we don't have a good LB youth prospect to promote as we're cooked if Destiny or Djed go down again. Truffert would've been a good get, playing well for Bournemouth.
 
Going back to the transfer window ........

A couple of surprises are neither Dane Scarlett or Luke Gunter went out on loan, both able to be List B players in CL squad and u21 in PL ......... might go to an overseas league with a window which closes later than today
 
Well....the 4 players signed are good players who all improve our team, for a change...
But it's not enough and we all know we needed more as our squad is woefully short...no backup left back, no left winger worth playing as the 2 we have are shit...no real centre back cover and no cover for palhinha either....so more of the same old shit, we wasted 3 months and still didn't get enough players...wasted too much time on players we didn't sign........joke

Relative to Liverpool, yes we don’t spend and didn’t strengthen the squad as much. Relative to Spurs of the past we did better than we normally do as we’ve brought in 4 starters many with big league experience. I don’t fully blame Levy on the Gibbs-White flop as in years past he wouldn’t have even tried. I feel that it always takes 2-years to turn a squad over and this is deadline day 1 and we’ve made a dent which wasn’t always the case over the non-Kane money years.
 
Call it irrational optimism, but I think one or both of Tell and Odebert will improve enough to make the wing position less of a problem than it seems at the moment. I do admit, though, I wish Son had been willing to stay around one more season.
 
Think it was a decent window tbh! We’ve signed 4 players who all raise the bar of the starting 11. Not sure why some fans are complaining that much? Could have used a bit more cover at CB but I wonder if Radu is closer than expected in returning and Frank wants to see how he does in a less exhaustive system
