Can we do any of the following options…..
A: Buy Brighton
B: Buy their scouting department.
C: Get their scouting team to get players for us and we give them a finders fee.
Comfortable on the ball and can hold it, unlike all
Of our players. Not sure I want him either but we need a few footballers asap
Grealish is cooked, old in relative terms and on super high wages and he's one of the slowest wingers in the league - what's with the pining?
Well, we nicked their medical department in the summer - how did that work out?
He'll be 30 by the time the season starts. We do need experience, but not sure he is the answer. Eze or Seymenyo would seem to be the smarter buy if we want someone to hit the ground running.
Suspect City need to clear out some of the high earners to make room for new players. I wonder if he'd be available for a very very low transfer fee.
AgreeExactly. I think he’s bored at City.
We have virtually no technical players and he’s one. Whilst not top of my list we could, and probably will, do a lot worse. If we spend £40m on Tel, for example, we’ve gone utterly mad, but I fully expect us to do it.
Agree
We have five better players in Tels position but we will sign him because we can.
They did some dodgy deals in the summer, will do them again this summer I imagine and be ok.They couldn’t afford him. Big financial trouble after not qualifying for CL. They’ll be selling players before end of June.
Four words…..He's on a 5 year deal and I doubt Spurs would pay the going rate for him, but Hinshelwood of Brighton made a nice impression today. Just 20 and has looked versatile this season. Beautiful second goal.
Managers don’t sign the players at SpursI’m not sure I’d let Ange decide on any players he wants either on the basis he probably won’t be here come Christmas. That will be Levy’s thinking, I bet.
But I thought without Europe or CL you can’t attract any players?
So much change needed its scary. A decent start is letting Tel, Davies, Reggie, Werner, Forster and Whiteman go as contracts finished. Gil, Solomon and Veliz have to go.
Then i'd be listening for offers on pretty much every other senior player apart from maybe VDV. A must to get rid of Richarlison, Bissouma and those others with contracts getting low like Bentancur and Romero if he isnt signing a new one.
The manager and all the coaching staff, Munn and maybe Lange out as well. I doubt we'll scratch the surface of that but its nice to imagine 17th would put a rocket up their arses.
But I thought without Europe or CL you can’t attract any players?![]()
History suggests it will be the same old, same old.."We have now tasted success and we are determined to use this as a springboard for more."
Let's hope he stays true to these words.
Wharton, Eze, Ait Norai and Mbeumo… Devine backLets forget names for a moment. The priority signings this summer are the below:
1. Starting CDM/6. My ideal candidate is Wharton.
2. LB/LCB. This needs to be someone who can compete with Udogie. Needs to be a much higher standard than Davies and Spence who are the only other players we have who can cover this role.
3. Versatile forward. Someone like Mbuemo who can play through the middle and out wide would be ideal. Basically a Richarlison replacement but who will probably make that right wing position his own. Raises the floor massively this as it would mean Brennan Johnson becomes a rotation option.
I'd have these 3 positions replacing Bissouma, Davies and Richarlison in our current squad. 3 players who I'd happily move on if we can get the above upgrades. I assume we will buy Tel too who would act as the Werner replacement. Eze is another player I'd love us to sign but I don't see him as a priority signing over the 3 positions I named above. He'd be my next signings in an ideal world.
Anyway I feel stupid writing all this. Do I really expect Levy to invest this CL money into the team and really go for it? No I don't. Guess its the hope that kills you.
