Dang? you mean good riddance?

The talk of Bentancur being offered a new contract is laughable. After months of absolute shit performances:

1) There has been reports of him being a vital leader in the squad.

2) Ange continuosly talks about how important he is.

3) The club are trying to extend his contract.

4) Ange plays him every game and acts as if he's insispensible.

Ive never quite seen anything like it. We are actually rewarding shit performances. This as well as us appealing his ban for racism actually makes me pretty sick.

Bentancur will be the next Ben Davies that we keep around because the lads all love him in the dressing room.

A ruthless club that really wants to win things, shifts Bissoum and Bentancur and replaces them with big time CM's. Would make Bergvall and Gray better players as well.

A sentimental, mediocre club keeps one of them and makes excuses.

Does this suggests (that you'd have a kid who's started a couple of games ahead of Kulu) you are coming round to my opinion that Kulusevski isn't as good as many were saying?

No I like Kulu- I want him to be converted to CAM and depth option RW. I just feel he’s behind Maddison as pure CAM right now. I think properly coached the next couple years he can be our CAM starter.

We just don’t really need him that much- especially if we aren’t playing in Europe next year. I don’t want to give him a new contract.

Midfield almost writes itself next year:

CAM: Maddison / Kulu
CM: Bergvall / Sarr
CDM: Gray / Cardoso

A lot of flexibility in there, especially if Madd/Kulu get occasional rotation at LW/RW against smaller sides, etc. (Depth chart: LW/RW: Son/Moore/Maddison, Odobert/Johnson/Kulu)

Only costs us $25m minus whatever we get selling Bentancur and Bissouma. Amazing.

Depends on how many competitions we are in but given the attrition rate in the PL and MF being the most intense position on the floor, i'd still want another CAM or CM. If we could find a legit box to box player who could carry the creative load when Maddison can't play that would be perfect. Somebody like Stiller from Stuttgart.

Going to be harder getting players in during the summer, with no European football and such a low placed finish.
Many will look around at other clubs, reckon club will target youngsters again, low wages but promise of game time.

Indeed but we also bought Richarlison when they bought Isak. Isak could easily have played on the wing for us with Kane.

The only reason we didn’t is because we all know Levy won’t sanction 70m on a player. He’s got a hard limit at 60m for some reason.

Solanke says hi.

Isak was an expensive gamble that paid off.

The end.

Isak was an expensive gamble that paid of. The end.

Solanke was 55m plus 10m in possible bonuses. Most likely has to win the PL or the CL to even get close to 60m.

Isak was 70m Euros in 2022 when the Euro was 0.9.

Given inflation since 2022 to when we signed Solanke, Isak was a more expensive transfer than Levy has ever been willing to do. Especially considering he arrived on 140k pw. Perisic might be the only player we have ever signed on wages like that for their first contract with us.

Wrangling over 5m really isn't worth the knots you're trying yourself in.

I am in no knots my friend.

Isak went from Sociedad to Newcastle for 70m and straight onto 140k pw.

The only time Levy ever sanctioned anything close to that was Tanguy and he will almost certainly never do it again.

The most ambitious clubs do deals like that every summer.

"Hard limit"

"Will almost certainly never"

Exchange rates vs inflation.

FFS.

😄

....All this cos NCs striker cost 5m more than ours.
