Plenty of retrospective tears when that we hadn't signed Min Jae from Japan too.

Not to mention the endless lauding of BVB, Lester, Brighton etc. whenever any of them have uncovered a gem......

"Why aren't we doing what they do?"

"Why weren't we in for them?"

2-0 down at home to forest and 16th and this fucker is doing some Club Man spin on behalf of his fucking employer.

Vomit inducing.

Always.

This season the narrative is you can't find good football people in lower leagues and you need real football men from football leagues.

Next season we will be right back to "Oooh look how they unearth gems, why can't we do that"

Ultimately the club needs to stick to an identity for style of play and recruitment, even if the results are hard to come by for aseason.

Change the coach, tweek if you have to but stick to the plan and build an identity or forever being nothing.

Let's get it done.

Sign a player from Mongolia and another from Kyrgyzstan and we've got all 4 corners of Asia covered.

That's how you do football business.

I actually like Yang and think he can be something. I hope he goes for another full season loan though- feels pretty certain he won’t be quite ready, and we probably won’t have enough games to develop both him and Moore.

Agree- I would like the club to buy more Grays, Bergvalls and Odoberts. Far better imo than buying older players given our club ambitions and capabilities. Perhaps we’ll have a more competitive time but we’re not there yet in our rebuild cycle it seems.

We need significant change this summer. Ange has to go. Romero wants out (no point keeping players who are not committed). Son needs to move on to an easier league and a well deserved big pay day. Massive question marks over Vicario (again) after another shaky performance yesterday. Kulusevski is not the worldy CAM we all thought he could be as he gives the ball away too easily and cannot control a game with his passing. When the going gets tough he hides out on the RW.

No Europe next year might be a blessing and give the new manager a chance to rebuild the team around our youngsters (Bergvall, Odobert and Gray) with no mid-week football.

Jesus, we we basically where we were 2 years ago

I'm with you.

But ultimately it'll be a business decision as much as it'll be a football one.

Actually wouldn't be surprised if they sold Mikey...or maybe the kid himself will wanna go, even if it's just on loan. He can't have been impressed by the way he's been treated this season.

Extending Bentancur's contract = wrong. Guy is a liability, not an elite player...and let's be honest, he's a right dickhead.

Offering Micky a juicy new deal = wrong. The best ability is availability. Take his pace away and he's nothing special. Guy is a giant, can't even head the ball.

Multiplying Bergvall's wages by 5 ot 6 = wrong. Sure I love the kid and he's been great, but putting him on 85k pw already, that's daft. Give him 45k, it's already a big rise. Kid is 19 and he's not even got a full season under his belt.

Signing Tel for 50 mil = wrong.

But Levy.

Frankly, we are in a mess.

If I were rebuilding the squad, unfortunately, I’d say we have to start from the back. We need a new goalkeeper; one that will command the area. I’d clear out Forster, Whiteman and Austin. I’d also, sell Vicario and get a replacement. Kinsky can remain #2 and we can promote a youth goalkeeper. 5 goalkeepers are too many and you get whatever you can for the leavers and save on their wages (Levy’s ears are pricking up as we speak).

Then, we have to look at the defence. Reguilon has to go. Udogie and Porro need to be replaced by proper fullbacks. Ben Davies; I don’t dislike him, but, pick a single position for him or move him on. Retain Spence, but keep him in one position (and make sure it is his optimal position).

Sell Romero for as much as you can and put Danso in. Bring this guy Vuskovic into the squad and Phillips. That, alongside Van der Ven is 1 at 6’3 and 3 at 6’4 at the back. Dragusin is back in December (I think). He is another 6’3 player. Set this as your baseline and get a proper set piece coach in and, if needs be, a defensive coach. Rigorously assess each player based on performance.

Go from there and assess based on what they do with 2 proper fullbacks and a powerful, commanding goalkeeper that communicates. I don’t care if he looks like Oliver Kahn or Peter Schmeichel when doing it. We need a goalkeeper who acts like a second captain and centre halves that can protect the back.

In midfield, both Bissouma and Bentancur need to be moved on. They aren’t giving us what we need. Werner needs to be removed from the wage bill (kerching, Daniel)…

Assuming the back gets fixed, the front then needs work (but later as we cannot change the whole team in one window).

Tbh, I’m sure I’ll get disagrees, but our goalkeeper, defensive and the other players mentioned are currently just not serious.

Agree, the Bergvall increase sounds like Levy has been listening to people raving about him on TV too much.

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City are reportedly keen on signing the Lazio defender, Mario Gila, at the end of the season

Sources have informed CaughtOffside that they will face competition from European heavyweights like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old has done quite well for the Italian club, and his performances have attracted the attention of top clubs.

The Italian outfit are prepared to let the player leave for a fee of around €40-45 million in the summer. It will be interesting to see if any of the aforementioned clubs come forward with an offer for him at the end of the season.

If Romero goes, we’ll need a much better starter than Danso. Not even convinced by him as a squad player tbh. Porro and Udogie do have ability, maybe they would look better under a different manager. Feel Spence has become a bit overrated recently, doesn’t seem to know when to release the ball and when to hang onto it, his physical attributes are good though so will always be a useful option.

Agree about a keeper. Vicario is a liability imo. Not an assured presence at all.

Bentancur for me is still a good footballer, composed on the ball and two footed, getting dragged down by the structure of this team. I’d consider selling Kulusveski if we got a good bid. Very easy to read, one paced and predictable.
