Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I was having a look through the PL top goal scorers this season and fuck me outside of Haaland some of the number 9s in the league this season is truly shocking. Gotta be the worst crop of strikers in the top flight for a good long while? (Outside of an unfit misfiring Isak, Ekitike, Woltemade and Haaland)

West Ham 'set to sign' Tottenham sensation Frankie Day

That is according to very reliable club insider ExWHUemployee, who has told his Patreon that West Ham are now 'set to sign' Tottenham starlet Frankie Day.

The 16-year-old, who plays as a striker, is said to be 'prolific' in his age group and Noble has personally been very involved in making the transfer happen.

Day is now poised to swap Tottenham for West Ham, with the deal seen as a 'bit of a coup' factoring in his potential.

“West Ham are set to sign England youth international Frankie Day from rivals Spurs,” said Ex, via West Ham Way.
“The deal is currently going through the Premier League five-step process before it can be completed.
“Frankie is a prolific forward who has scored many goals at his age group and whilst playing up in years above. This is considered a bit of a coup for the club with Mark Noble being very much behind the deal.”
As West Ham wait for the formalities to be completed, it will be very interesting to see what the future holds for Day in east London.

The Irons have been more focused on youthful recruitment these past few seasons, as evident by their recent signings of Mohamadou Kante, Mateus Fernandes and Magassa.

Their academy sides have shown great promise as well, with West Ham's Under-23s completing a league and cup double in 2023 whilst finishing that campaign with 26 wins out of a possible 30 in all competitions.

Day could be at the perfect place to further his development, and there's no doubt Noble will have emphasised that in talks with the teenager.

In fairness to the boy, sticking the head on somebody who was probably giving him hassle in a pub wouldn’t be the thing that would put me off signing anybody. It’s hardly a Partey/Greenwood situation.

It’s more a sad reflection on society that a scrap in a pub is front page news and leads to the boy being taken away in handcuffs. Back before the world went all woke, you couldn’t go out on a Saturday night without seeing at least a couple of fights, and the polis didn’t come running to arrest folk for it either, it’s how men sort things out
Ridiculous. Proper men sort things out with muskets drawn at 20 paces.

‘Hesitant’ meaning that if we agree to overpay him and none of the clubs that he mentioned have made a move by 29th January then he’ll issue us a ‘come and get me’ plea.
He can totally fuck off.

Yep. No point having a player who doesn’t 100% want to be here because how do we know we will give 100% on the pitch?

We went through this with Eze, let’s not make the same mistake again.

Firstly, I have no idea who Frankie Day is and apparently he plays for us, so I'm not sure Spam fans should be getting as carried away as the tone of this article would suggest.

Secondly, I'm sure the football world is on the edge of it's seat waiting for this exciting crop of youngsters from Spam's academy to explode onto the scene, presumably now around 25 years old given they were the U23s in 2023 and we're now heading into 2026, so any minute now I guess...

:franklol:

Our full backs are a big weakness. Udogie cannot stay fit, is inconsistent when he plays, he hasn't progressed at all. Porro cannot defend and the opposition know this and target his side

Look how poor defensively Liverpool have been without Trent and Robertson and how good we were under Poch when Walker and Rose were flying. The full back positions matter a lot.
Yep, we need to fix Spence in as No1 on the right and get a proper elite left back that Udogie can understudy

Had a quick nosy at Kish’s video he done with some data guy on January targets for our problem areas (CM, LW & LB) and Locatelli came out miles ahead in terms of what we need in midfield.

Been banging that drum, the last week while, but I’ll say it again, Locatelli would be an absolutely transformative signing in midfield for us in terms of making the team tick.
