Hoping Gallagher is just another one of these perennial non-goers that we are linked with to hasten along deals with other clubs, because honestly if we buy another water carrier to add to the 12 we already have on the books I'm going to fucking shoot myself.

He's another busybody runner, will directly block Bergvall's path to minutes and basically make it even harder for us to get the technical mid we desperately need into the team.

As a loan til the summer I can just about see some value in it, as he'd be an immediate upgrade on Gray and be a decent pressing number 10 (better than Sarr/Bergvall in that role) against top teams. But even then is it really necessary?

He reeks of Villa to me and Emery would do great with him - if he's got any sense he'll choose them - but really not what we should be prioritising at Spurs at all.

Agreed

I dont think Gallagher is a bad player at all, in fact he's very good at what he does.

He could be a one man pressing machine in midfield for us, a proper disruptor/transition maker

But I dont think he is the type of player we need, and I do have concerns abou the development/minutes Sarr/Bergvall/Gray will get if we buy a player thats for their position

Bentancur injury makes it understandable.

TBH he’s better than Bentancur at Betancur things.

Villa lost Kamara against us though so he can probably see minutes there too…

CL at Spurs in the short term helps his England case. Maybe that works for his decision
