Well I hope they don't take any notice of this cunt.

"Spurs will have no desire to take advice from Sol Campbell, but their infamous ex-captain has decided to offer his take on the Frank situation regardless of this fact."

Pretty much sums the cunt up doesn't it!!!! :ange-facepalm2:

I always laugh when the Frank defenders use Solanke missing as though it was prime Harry Kane. They give off that our strikers can't score, despite Richy exceeding his XG in the league by 2.4 goals, which suggests he doesn't get many chances because our awful set up, but is actually quite clinical. And then there was Solanke last year who underperformed by 3 goals. That is not a defence of Richy either, but using Solanke as this missing X factor is desperately grasping at straws.
If you would have said at the start of the season we can swap Solanke for RKM , i bet you the majority of people would have been spinning it as a massive upgrade and tbf for the couple of time Frank has played him central he has contributed with Goals or assists, its just he looks lost out wide.

Its also the same for adding Kudus instead of Kulu and Xavi instead of Maddision, the current issues are not a player issue, its a manager \ System issue.

Its because Solanke can actually control a football.

It's like the guy who's on loan now .Taki I can't really ever see him playing for us and I think why the fuck we gone and got him. Hope I'm wrong
I think it’s fine to cast the net wider with these little cheap punts. There’s zero risk as you will always be able to sell them back to Japan or Korea or to Germany, and one of them might come off and you find a star. The way data has meant that everyone’s after the same players you have to try to find stuff outside the box.

He's not a particularly skilful footballer. He scored 9 goals in the PL for Spurs last season, and 19 for Bournemouth the season prior, So that's 28 of his 38 Premier League goals in total. So he may as well not have existed as a CF before that.
I think he is a really skillful player. His touch is really good. He’s just not particularly great at getting off shots quickly around the box which makes it easier for defenders.

I personally have no issue with cheap punts like this.

If they work out then great. If not the kid is sold on and we go again. It is part of the experimenting process.
Yeah some work some dont. Bergvall and Vuskovic look great signings for the fees paid.

For every Dawson, Lennon, Bale, Alli, Walker you're going to get a Callum Davenport, Chris Gunter, Kyle Naughton.

Caveat though that It is more difficult now as 20 years ago we were generally the only English team doing it and now we've fallen behind.

Dawson - £4m
Lennon - £1m
Bale - £5m (rising to £10m)
Alli - £5m
Walker - £4.5m
Callum Davenport - £2m
Chris Gunter - £3.5m
Kyle Naughton - £4.5m

Less than £30m for the lot, fees were so much more realistic then. Nowadays a "punt" will set you back £15-20m.

Ironically, our success in exploiting this is probably a big contributing factor to these kind of transfers now costing so much more.

Mental, isnt it?

He stunk the place out just as bad as our last two managers have, why would we want another at that level?!
I think there still a chance he goes on to do a good job elsewhere. Man United are a fucking hard club to manage, especially now with that old Tory crackpot sticking his tuppence worth in despite knowing fuck all about football. Their squad was also about as unsuited to Amorim’s system as you could possibly get.

Ironically, I think our squad would be a lot more suited to his style of play, with Porro and Udogie as wingbacks, 3 top centre backs that can all play with the ball at their feet in Romero, VDV and Vuskovic when he’s back, plenty of legs and running in the middle, particularly now with Gallagher coming in, and then Xavi & Kudus as the two 10’s.

Despite saying all that though, I absolutely would not want him coming here and testing that theory just now. We’d get absolutely ridiculed for it. He’s damaged goods after what happened at United and I wouldn’t want someone so wedded to a certain system; One, because you need someone who’s flexible enough to change their system when it isn’t working and doesn’t just arrogantly plow on with it to try and prove a point at the expense of results. And two; it’s a very specific system that requires specific players in specific positions, and when leaves you’re left with a load of players that might not suit most incoming managers.
