We were linked last year before the hype train left the station

Of course the majority of fans raged "not another fucking teenager!!!!!!!!"
I remember being linked with him and it made total sense. But then they just stopped over the summer.

I agree with the kids thing to an extent, but CM's who play like they're in their late 20's, they aren't easy to come by. I was having arguments with people here that said Paz was overrated, a kid, too expensive, while I think he'd have been the best buy we've had in donkeys years. There's definitely nuances to the kids argument.

Can't see it, certainly not in January. Everton aren't on the brink of financial collapse anymore, obviously not out of the woods, but losing their star isn't necessary
So, we are now just about half-way through the window.
I think that only Tottenham, City, Palace, Spam and Villa have done anything significant through the first half of the window. 75% of EPL teams have done precisely fuck-all (not counting Bournemouth being forced to sell).

It’s almost as if it’s true that January is a more difficult time to buy — for reasons that include the one you’ve cited relating to Everton — and the posters that insist that ‘everyone is available all the time if only’ might just be heavily influenced by their video games and be wrong.

But again there are nuances. It's generally harder to buy in January, but we've just signed a player for a few mil less than he's probably worth because he wants first team football for a shot at a WC place. It's all contextual. Going out and buying a team's best player, especially in the top 5 leagues, very unlikely unless you either; do it very early, or overpay.

Either way, I'd rather not do much first team business now because of the uncertain manager situation and adding to an already bloated squad with players that the next manager won't want. And even then, there are players that if the opportunity presented itself, and players that most managers would love, then sure.

But yeah, people crying out for lots of important Signings this month are optimistic, to say the least.

Seems to be something in this rumour. It keeps popping up. No way would anyone pay 100m euros for him though. Expect it would be more like 60-70m

We could help Barca by taking Raphinha and Lamal off their hands. That would help them generate the €100M they need for this boy.

Let's get that "special relationship" going with Barca, seeing as the one with RM appears to have just been a booty call...

You’re right about Paz, but he’d never have joined us. Like most Spanish kids (He’s only Argentine through his parents) he grew up dreaming of playing for Madrid. They don’t give up on that dream lightly if they have a sniff of going back, and he definitely wouldn’t have given it up to come here.

Given how low the buyback is, he’s essentially on loan at Como from Madrid.
