Transfers The Winter Transfer Thread - 25/26

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Not been in this thread today as clearly from what I was picking up elsewhere, no point as nothing was happening. Yes January window is difficult and apart from MC very little business done. However we are very short on numbers and I can only think the hierarchy have written off this season, thinking they have enough to escape relegation but not enough to win CL or qualify next season. Whether Frank lasts the season is debatable.

Next season we will have our long term injuries back and we have a couple of Loanees that should be in the squad and with no Europe keeping the squad happy will be the main problem rather than having 11 fit players. In the Transfer market we must go for quality and not quantity and anyone bought must be an automatic first choice. Changing the GK and a forward that scores lots of goals being the highest priorities.

A very disappointing window.

Let's be fair, we must be due the 'mother of all' transfer windows this summer, with a war chest, huge revenues, money saved, new directors and a new Chairman, new coaching staff and physios - the stage is set for the THFC rebuild to begin once this sorry season is over.

I mean, things can't get any worse, so the future has to be brighter, no?

We are being trolled by our very rich piss taking owners - all this talk of money to spend needing to buy experienced quality leadership type players and to pay appropriate wages and what do we see on the official web site on transfer deadline day ? We’ve signed a 17 year old and an 18year old to go with the 19 year old Brazilian LB we signed last week
The bastards are laughing at us - the next 3 games could get really really toxic

He is gonna be picked in front of academy players.
I wonder if he can still be sold to a Greek or Turkish club, their transfer windows don't close until the 6th February, if not we may as well see if he wants a new contract here IMO. I'd rather move Bentancur on in the summer, he's not the same player since the injury before the one that Matty Cash put on him, and then that one on top. I think it may have been his first match back from his other injury.

Did you forget about the experienced ex Chelsea captain that we signed?

The squad is full. Spurs cannot add foreign players. There was possibility of 2 home grown spots only, but who is going to join without an assurance of playing in Champs League?

The only candidate to be sold in this window was Bissouma, but he is probably more useful playing for us than gambling on a replacement.

Gallagher, Dragusin go into champions league squad. Tough call on Tel vs Bissouma.

Of course, Sterling is still an option as he is a free agent and, fits the home grown list. At this stage in his career, is he more useful than a hungry, keen to impress Tel?

Overall, Spurs have had 2 very good transfer windows now and are building a very very good young squad.

Whilst I agree with lots of this... 2 good windows?

I don't think leaving the squad with no functioning left hand side, could be considered good.

1x LB, 1x LCB, 7/8x RCB, 2x RB, and one of them Porro, is not even a RB and more suited to playing as a RW in my opinion. And that was our defence.

Levy had more than enough time to find a replacement for Son, but decided to go ahead with Tel, had done feck all, like Timo before him.

It was a meh window IMO, any good was undone by the bad, so a middle ground meh.

I think football will have rolling subs in the future. And teams will bring on players like Wilson just for free kicks .
We already have 2 loan players.
Maybe we just think it's better for him, even at the expense of us, to let him stay there for the season and finish what's he's started there. He could come back to us and end up on the bench most weeks, or he could stay there and actually win some player based awards and play almost every minute available.
He'd be pissed right off if we dragged him back and ruined his season.

Jennings was thought to be ready to retire and not good enough.
Neill was batshit mental and his appointment is crazy to this day,o
Replaced by the very young Clemence 😂😂

Why did the club decide to loan out Scarlett during an injury crisis and bring James Wilson, a player none of us had heard about?

Screams incompetence.

We can only hope we dont suffer any more injuries, especially in attack.

Wise up. There's nothing fucking professional about how we're run as a football Club with supposed ambition is there....

Sometimes it takes someone in a more influential position to speak up when things aren't being done right.

These owners are taking the fucking hand. And Romero knows it.
Really? No spunking a shit load on bang average players form the Levy bargin bucket is a massive improvement.

Getting shit players is worse than getting no one in many cases... Yes really. How many utter shyte players have we been stuck with for years coz we couldn't move them on. Sucking up the wage budget and squad places?

Simple……no buys in this window…..Frank is sacked at the end of the season ( or before)…….Any purchases will be for the new manager (Poch)…….Will Romero or Micky be here next year?

Conte was a serious manager who lost his shit because he knew he was in the hands of people who were not serious about winning.

That is the bit that matters.

He genuinely felt bad about being paid a fortune to cheat the supporters which is why he referenced how he and the players were payed well for what they did.

It was pure, seething frustration which he was unable to keep a lid on by the time his team had spaffed the lead at Southampton.

He was telling us then that some of the players were being protected by the owners for non football reasons.
Levy leaving Conte with Dier as a fecking CB... Proper backing the manager that and showing ambition :roflmao:

Romero can F off anyway, and VdV can go if his heart is not in it, and get a shyte load of money.

We won't need a replacement for Romero, and we can get 2x quality LCB's with VdV money.

So don't really care as long as Romero goes.
