Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We should 💯 be selling Richie this Jan. Will never get a higher price (my dream is still to use him as makeweight to reduce the Ndiaye fee at Everton).

Get that he’s got a great scoring record recently but he’s honestly not up to it.

In the last year (365 days), these are the number of 'progressive passes' each of our midfielders has made per 90

this season is in parenthesis

source

Bentancur3.46 (2.92)
Palhinha3.16 (3.23)
Bergvall3.65 (3.95)
Sarr3.29 (3.42)
Xavi Simons5.80 (6.34)

So, oddly enough, all of them have more progressive passes per 90 this season than they did last season (assuming last 365 is approx 50/50), except for Bentancur (by a fraction).

We just have shit midfielders in that regard

Well, that is going to be ignored as it doesn’t support the narrative but thanks for posting that. Interesting. We just aren’t good.

I can't understand why Richie get the hate when the whole team plays absolute Crap. I'd sell Bentancur, Tel, Davies and whole lots of other before Richie. I guess people expect him to come back in defence, win the headers, chase the ball, dribble through the opponents whole team and score. No STR will be effective with the midfield we have.

He actually played really well yesterday. Worked very hard and must have cleared away four or five headers from their corners. Easily our best attacker on current form and looks fit for the first time since joining. Dread to think how much worse we’d have been without him. In the summer it’s a different story but without Ange’s mismanagement of him and his fitness he looks much more like the Everton Richarlison.

Id like to replace all of them

But you have a point - Gyrokores and Sesko are bang average and look what they cost. It's hard to buy a good striker these days. If only we had made it more attractive for our last one to stay...

At this point and with the options available, i'd actually take Ademola Lookman.

He's 28 so not competing with the youth and is homegrown, he's also an actual goal threat unlike a lot of the other rumoured targets i.e Savinho.

Love that people aren't just satisfied with selling our top goalscorers from the last three seasons, but now want to shift the next highest scorer as well. All the while complaining about a lack of goals from open play.

Yes, we need a new top-end striker but so do most other clubs. Meanwhile we have Brentford, Palace and Sunderland who each have at least one player making more progressive passes than our entire midfield.

No id like him to just be able to control the ball and pass it to a teammate.

So no one was lined-up before we sold Johnson. Just insane, given our abject paucity in front of goal.

If it were not that United, Chelsea and Liverpool are going through their own quite public melodramas, there is no doubt at all that we would be absolutely under the microscope.

Somebody within the club's hierarchy has to take a grip of where we are going.

Malign Levy, possibly with some justification, but at least we had an obvious, if flawed leader.

Now, just rudderless,or so it seems.
