Better sit on our hands for a bit longer then!

“I think it’s pretty fair to say that we are maybe a little bit short on offensive options,” said Frank before the fixture against Bournemouth.
Frank is in charge. He decided to sell our top scorer and he was the one who agreed to bring in Kudus, Tel, RKM and Simons.
OK, Kudus is injured but that still leaves us Tel, Simons, RKM and Odobert. Richarlison and Scarlett.
That is 6 players for 3 positions. We are not short. He is effectively saying that he believes the players that he bought are not good enough.

Gallagher would be an unbelievably braindead signing.

He would've made some sense going into Ange's second season as we needed legs and some proven PL talent, but we've since bought 2 players in Gray and Bergvall who are also best playing as 8s and have similar strengths (ball carrying, defensive busybodies) and weaknesses (progressive passing). And if the idea is to play him as a 10 why the hell did we spend so much on Xavi?

All Gallagher would do is clog up the squad and make it even harder to develop the kids we spent loads of money on, while still not solving the fundamental issues we have (lack of passing/technical ability).

If this is the type of guy Frank wants then I completely agree with everyone saying 'don't back him in the market' as it's a signing that will come back to bite us once Frank inevitably gets binned off within the next 5 months.

I agree with you. Can’t see us splashing out on the financials any way. He’s better than what we currently have but there’s other areas we can also improve. Think it’s just his agent trying to get he may move to England before the World Cup anyway. Suspect he may end up back at somewhere else.

Come on you have been around long enough to know how it and levy/ENIC works. Frank would have been given a list of players and he’d have chosen the least shit option. Just like every manager we’ve had in the last twenty plus years.

Pretty obvious Tel was done before he got here and he had little choice. He doesn’t fancy him or he’d have played him. We got kudus because mbuemo went to united. Simons because we fucked up MGW and Eze. And Muani because Solanke was injured.

There’s rationale for each one. He could have done a Poch and said no to all of them but we’d be even more fucked if he’d have gone down that route.

It would be so typical if we spent 150m on mediocre players that won’t suit whoever manages us next, and won’t be able to offload.

This ownership is the epitome of this

This league is an absolute bloodbath. I mean Liverpool spent 400m and where are they? Miles behind the challengers in 4th. 150m is a drop in the ocean these days.

Everyone has money. Its superior scouting and management that gets results. Thats essentially why we are crap.

Least shit or not it's his decision.

Culture plays a big part in a player's work ethic and goals in life.

Hearing that some guy from Brazil is keen to join Spurs because he would like to live in London doesn't fill me with confidence. Spurs need players who are desperate to win trophies, at the highest level - and crucially want to work hard to do that.

We hear the same line from too many players now "I need to move clubs to win Trophies", "My ambition is to play for the biggest teams". They want to be gifted glory, not work for it. We need players who say, "I want to work hard with my team to make us the best in the World".

Modern footballers = Give me money, give me glory; I deserve it. I'm famous. Oh, and my leg is a bit hurty - I still want my money.
Nailed it!

This is why you need a strong scouting team, and ours are second only to our medical team in the competency department!

Not right and correct.

It's not just plundering money but getting the right balance and quality of players at the right moment

This is something people disregard about Pochettino. He had a lot of players at exactly the right time and was able to create something.

150 million, spent well is better than a scattergun 400 million spent badly.

And crucially you need the manager who can gel a group of players and get the maximum out of them, and for me, once you see progress towards that aim, that's all you want.

For me, that's why I don't think Frank will last. We have decent players but he is offering little to add to their collective ability, and sending out defeatist messages too often.

What decent players are these? Frank is an experienced premier league manager. I dont like his football this year. But to suggest otherwise is daft. Blaming a manager that has been here for barely 6 months is also daft. The board recruitment strategy for 8 years has been terrible.

No idea. I'm not going to go round in circles with people telling me we haven't got a set of more than decent players. It's just nonsense.

We are getting into a constant silly season when posters start saying all our players are sh!t, or that Van De Ven is the only top player, which in my opinion is definitely wrong.

I will be very disappointed if you are not at every Coventry home game, in the away end calling Fat Frank a wanker .

I love football and because Highfield Road was the first football ground I ever went to, to see Keith Burkinshaw's Spurs play Cov, I must confess that I was gutted when they knocked it down and moved to the CBS Arena.

I went to Highfield Road to watch reserve games for years until Cov were relegated in the early 2000's. You'd often get to see top Premier League players for a pittance to get in. This was when I had a Paxton Road season ticket at Spurs and went home and away.

Cov fans have been through a right load of shit for the last 15 - 20 years; at one point having to watch their team at Northampton Town and Birmingham City while the stadium was owned by a private entity.

They probably deserve a spell back in the Prem for that alone.

They do love Fat Frank though.

His combover is getting thinner and thinner as Cov drop points at the moment.
