He’s going to fit right in! :davieshmm:

Based on recent reports, Santos left-back
Souza (born 2006) has a history of injuries, including a significant one in early 2025.
Recent Injury History (2025–2026):
  • Ankle Injury (January 2025): Souza suffered an ankle injury in January 2025 that sidelined him for three months.
  • Knock (2024/25 Season): Recorded as having a 12-day "knock" resulting in 2 games missed.
  • Availability (January 2026): As of early January 2026, he was involved in transfer negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur, with reports suggesting he was left out of the squad for the Campeonato Paulista opener.
Previous Injury History (Youth/Early Senior Career):
According to Transfermarkt, Souza has had several issues early in his career:
  • 2022/23 Season: Multiple knee-related issues, including a 48-day period with inflammation, a 36-day meniscus tear, and other knee problems.
  • 2021/22 Season: Experienced multiple hamstring strains.
  • 2020/21 Season: Suffered a partial muscle tear.
Despite these injuries, the 19-year-old made 24 appearances for Santos in the 2024 Serie B campaign. As of January 9, 2026, he is heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.

Won't be able to pass water as soon as he sticks on a spurs shirt

I am seeing quite a few people who have watched his performances the last couple of days say he looks utter shit.

Like really really poor.

Then you have Tim Vickery saying he's highly rated. But Vickery has been wrong plenty of times.

In any case it's a fucking pisstake. We desperately needed to upgrade on LB and instead we've signed a 19 year old punt from Brazil who at best won't contribute properly for 2 or 3 seasons. Meanwhile we have Udogie permanently crocked, and Ben Davies? I mean wtf are we doing here?

Lange is a cretin.

The club take the fucking piss.

Christ on a bike, another teenager.

And sorry if this is controversial or indeed triggering, but is there not really a 19 year old British prospect that we might have wanted to invest time and effort into ?

The odds of this guy even getting a work permit are not especially high. And for £13m

Look at Kinksy as your yard stick. £12m and 12 months later the guy warms the bench week in and week out, at the expense of our own home grown keepers. It’s a joke transfer and a joke club.

Just like Velez…

This club.
Spot on.

Makes me sick how we always go down the foreign route when there's gotta be tens of equally/more talented English prospects.

So ship out a LB & 2 x STs and replace none of them?

Real smart.
We are getting souza... Guirassy is a striker, Akliouche is a winger... So at LB we have, souza, Spence, VDV can play there and Davies.... ST.... Guirassy, Muani, Scarlett...
I think it's more alarming that you said replace none of the strikers when I'd mentioned Guirassy... Who's been prolific in Bundesliga for last 3 seasons.

If we buy Souza, a teenager, it will be another £xxm wasted that could have gone towards a bigger player. I had to Google him. He's inury-prone, so I guess that's why we want him, and being young and Brazilian, just what we need for the cold winter months.

Does this club seriously just go out to get anyone that will come here, when I haven't even seen half the other young players we bought, play yet.

What a marquee signing.

"I knew there was something I forgot to ask...duh! Oh well, it'll all be fine, always works out."

"I don't see him ready for European football. He's not even established in Brazil yet. This has been a big problem for many young players in Brazil. They leave the country very young and without establishing themselves at their formative club. Souza is a player who doesn't arrive in Europe fully formed, but he is a player with a lot of potential to develop."

How is this discussion going to end with a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis. You fucking PRICK!!!

Nobody is comparing Akliouche (which you can't even fucking spell) to Maradona... Akliouche can still be a good player even if he predominately plays with one foot.

We have over 6,000 villages in the UK... if you took the village idiot from every village and put them all into your village, you would still be the village idiot.

Another one for the ignore list...

Praise the Lord. A complete cretin has disappeared from my life how will I cope. Now Everyone saw this don't ever recant. Blocked forever you made a public promise!!!

This is the problem. We can't wait for him to develop, because as soon as he proves he is actually good enough, clubs like Chelsea and City or Bayern will want him.

So we take punts on these players, and there's a 75% chance he turns out to be a duffer.
