If you actually look at his stats on the ball he's gotten worse tbh. Not saying I want him to go like, but wouldn't be that bothered after him acting all Billy Big Bollocks the other night and diving.

He didnt dive. And even if he had how is he any different to every other player in the world. Are we meant to be holier than thou? Look at villa. Cried, dived, whinged their way to a win. Anyone calling them out?

Ive mixed feelings on Gallagher, but over all more positive than negative

On the negative, I agree its another 8, and have real concerns about Bergvall / Sarr / Gray getting time to develop. I suspect loans will be arranged if not now, in the summer.

On the positive, I do think he is an upgrade on Bentancur for sure, I really like that he's HG (a constant issue for us) and a really like that he is a real leader. He WILL drive this team on.

I do wonder what Frank will do with him though, and suspect itll be less than ideal.

For example, we have Tel starting to make LW his own, Simmons beginning to find his feet, and Bentancur injured.

Logic says pair Gallagher with Palinha*. Frank Logic says drop Tel, shut Simmons LW where he isnt effective and play Gallagher as a #10....



*I think the best we've seen Palinha was against Villa, when the tempo was up, chasing pressing everything - paired with Gallagher thats two busy cunts like that in the middle - would be horrible for teams to play against, not a moments respite.....
....If we are ever allowed to play that tempo again

Also it helped tha we had the amazing Cristian Eriksen who was everywhere in our midfield knitting everything together. Mobile, never gave the ball away, always looking to play progressively

I think people think we need a deep lying passer because we have that embarrasingly low through ball rate and struggle to progress the ball

Problem is, under Frank, a deep lying passer is a complete waste of time. Unless he suddenly starts coaching some proper attacking movement into the team, we can buy Adam Wharton and he will be useless - because he wont have anyone he can pass to!

And, of course - different strokes for different folks - Poch never used or needed one as you say.

I think a combo of Gallagher/Bergval/Gray etc behind a Xavi, all moving, mobile, passing, give and go - would progress the ball just fine, in the right set up
