It makes zero sense does it? They could’ve offered him £100k a week and he would’ve taken it.
I kind of get that his agent could've just walked in and said a first team attacker at Man City earns x so we want parity, here's our demand.

But then City just say no, here's our offer of 4x your current wage, are they really going to reject it? I doubt it.

Of course you also have to weigh up any competitive offers from elsewhere but I just can't see anyone else offering £300k to this guy coming from Frankfurt, there is no competition at that level, you'd think £150k would be the maximum going rate.

Please prove me wrong and incompetent Maghnes, but this screams of repeating the same mistake we've been making for years.

Spend the money wisely on players we know can perform in the prem. Ndiaye or marmoush

For the right we did that with Kudus. We wanted Semenyo for the left and it seems Marmoush and Ndiaye are the alternatives we will try and go for. So I think the club have finally seen sense

Ndiaye has had half a season in the Prem after coming in from France.

Don't recall many screaming for us to buy him from his stint at Sheff Utd prior to that.

He has a whopping 4 goals and 2 assists.

Marmoush has ~1 season PL experience in total having only arrived here last Jan, and apparently Pep has seen enough to discard him already, he has 1 goal and 1 assist in 15 appearances this season.

I'm not sure either are the right player to support the Prem proven point that you're trying to make.

This is his second season in the PL

FWIW, it has him who knocked us out of the FA Cup in our Stellini-whilse-Conte-was-having-an-op-not-Stellini-after-Conte-left era

No offence, but who gives two f#cks what Trix says, 99.9% of what comes out of his gob is pure bullshit, you now when he is telling lies because his mouth is open. Still he may be right on the Frank situation, but we could all presume /guess that, doesn't make him itk no matter how much he wants people to believe he is.
Thanks for the update all the same, good to know that SC hadn't changed and that kinda bullshit still resonates over there.

He does get info, he called Frank being our manager before anyone else. He isn't good on transfers but he is pretty good in terms of info on goings on at the club.

Fair points but our track record of scouting talent who are ready rom Europe is appauling. Apart from van de ven, that was the exception.

Marmoush scored 7 in 16 last year and he's a good player.

Ndiaye has 4 goals 2 assists in 16 as mainly a number 10/centre attacking midfielder. That's a goal every 4 games.

Kudus scored 5 goals in 32 last year, and he's one of our best players.

Are you arguing that akliouche has a better chance of succeeding than the two suggested?

Not really, but this time last season both of the players you mentioned were just prospects from Europe themselves.

I think the problems with our signings from Europe are problems within the club when the player gets here rather than anything inherently wrong with signing players from Europe.

If we were to cut ourselves off from that pipeline and only go for players who have already made the move and played here for a bit then it's going to get very expensive very quickly, which in turn pretty quickly limits our funds for further transfers.

If we stop signing players that haven't played in England before then we're focussing on the wrong problem.
