Our bench is horrifically light in the forward areas.
It’s only gotten worse since we sold Johnson.
Absolute shambles, nobody’s been brought in.

RKM, Richy, Solanke, Tel, Xavi, Kudus, Madders, Deki, Odobert, Scarlett

That's 10 players for 4 places... injuries have hit us hard but that is still 6 places for 4 spots before you start asking Spence to play wide and Gallagher to play at 10. Clear they are not going to buy RKM. But if the other 9 are fit then we are not light at all... We can't keep buying 10s and 9s and wide players until we off load some of these which is why I would try and move a few of these on now and get in some better players now... but here is the problem. Would cancelling RKM's loan, sending Scarlett out on loan (again) and selling Tel, then dropping 50m Strand Larsen make us better???? Because that is the sort of player we can buy in Jan. We're not getting an Osimhen or Vlahović.

We’re light on quality players, the ones you’ve mentioned are all of a muchness.

Odobert last night is why Bobb isn’t worth it.

They are in the same stage of their career and equally talented.

If we do add a forward player it needs to be one much further along.
Odobert has huge potential. As does Tel. We are having such a shit season that I see nothing wrong with just playing them every week until May. Let's see if they can take off and fly.

We've nothing to lose at this stage. If we were in the mix for top 4 then I'd want us to be more ambitious and sign better players. But right now we've nothing to lose and everything to gain by exposing them to regular minutes.

I really see no need for any winter signings myself personally. The season is a total write off already unless we can put together a bit of a run in the champions league. We may aswell focus on building good foundations for next season by giving most our young players regular playing time.

And I'm not doing this stupid "oh we might get relegated" bollix and pretending the Burnley game this weekend is a must win. To me thats total melting.

It's only January, we can very much still qualify for Europe next season with us being just 6 points off 7th .

We need European competition really

Look, I don't disagree. But the question was about being light which I interpreted (rightly or wrongly) as a question about quantity. I agree, that those names I mentioned haven't shown enough, even the likes of Madders and Deki who many think will return from injury and make us unbeatable. I guess my point is, we can't just keep buying more and more attacking players who are, as you say, much of a muchness. We need to move some of these players on something we are criminally bad at doing. You watch Woolwich. They will get 30m for Jesus in the summer whilst we'll get 5m for Richarlison further hindering our ability to re-stock.

Agree. Unless we can sign a forward that legitimately changes the game for us.
