If we get in 2 more, which is badly needed!

We’re gonna need to shift a fair few on in the summer. Squad - fully fit will be huge

I get a lot of people look at the injuries and automatically feel like we should be buying a few more players in January. Those who know me on here know I love bashing the leadership of this club at every opportunity but you have to look at this objectively. We aren't winning the Champions League, we aren't going to qualify for Europe next season and I am 96.7% certain we won't be relegated. When all the injured players are back we will have about 33 first team players not including RKM and Palhinha who will return to their parent clubs. Several will go out on loan and hopefully we will sell some of the duds. After all that, we will still have around 25 before any additions. That is a lot for a season without European football even when you factor in more injuries and suspensions.

Most of what you say is not wrong.
But you already have taken the most comfort-zone view possible from all possible angles.

It is always most comfortable not to do ... anything.

But there are alternative takes.
Like for example - actually adding quality to the side. And when summer window arrives, then there is literally 3 months to be ruthless.
When you buy/loan/loan with option to buy players in and they are successful additions- then you just ruthlessly bin off big part of the squad that does not fit the bill.

It is tough but it CAN BE done. It is not as comfortable as doing fuck all. And it needs decisiveness. But it can be done.
Look how City acted when they got issues in the backline. Or for matter of fact to already crowded frontline. They did not sit around with excuse "but we'll have overload when injured players return". No. They went out and brought in Guehi AND Semenyo. But here is the difference - despite the oilmoney and all - they are very well run club. They have actual professional footballing department that also knows how to offload players when needed. There was 3 seconds of glimmering hope that we have got the same thing once we sold Johnson. Cause in isolation cashing in on him was a really good move. But then it obviously was not followed up with actually buying another player to same department.

I had chickpea stew for dinner yesterday: Cocido Madrileño. Madrid's famous dish. It was delicious.

Madrid Stew (Cocido madrileño) - Olive Oils from Spain

I think it cost less than that per portion (I made a pot). chorizo isn't expensive in spain like it is in the UK. chickpeas are pennies

So what you're saying, is that your academy actually produces cheap, high quality products.

There is always an option. The player himself doesn't seem too happy and some of the comments I've seen is that his agent is looking for another club for the second half of the season because his place in France's WC squad is in serious jeopardy. I feel like we could see something here but I wouldn't bank on the lever being pulled by us because we would probably have to pay the full loan fee. If the player/agent pull the lever then I imagine they will need to compensate us.
Well his agent could probably buy us a manakin or one of the metal training frames to stick in the pitch in his place.

Or we could keep a deep squad and when we inevitably get a million injuries next season (like we do every season) we have a bit of wiggle room...?

Edit : I think it's high time squad sizes are increased. Players are playing too much football. Perhaps the teams in European competition should get extra dispensation and get an extra 5 slots or something.

What do we need then bearing in mind Kudus, Deki, Bentancur, Davies and Richarlison will be back before April.
Sarr and Bissouma are back this week. Van de Ven was only suspended. Gallagher was cup tied and Palhinha has a knock which I know with this club can be a broken leg next time you check.
Between now and April we have 3 Champions League Games and 9 Premier League Games. 12 games in 10 weeks.
Don't get more wrong. If we have a chance to land Osimhen then you take it but I ain't buying bodies for the sake of buying bodies. Throw in Scarlett, Byfield, Olusesi, LWB or Akhamrich.
I don’t want to buy for the sake of it either
But I’m not confident all of those places actually being back when the club have said

For a couple of weeks we were being linked with some top wingers. Now ,based one one good performance against us (when we were rubbish) we are linked with Crysencio. Also linked with some anonymous defender this morning whose contract is up next Summer.
