self-respecting you say?

I only really watch PL. If there is someone gettable the calibre of a Mahrez/Semenyo level thats what we need. Or at least one on the left and hope Odobert keeps developing on the right

Bearing in mind "elite" in any one position is a tiny fraction of the footballing world; part 2 of the question:

Which "elite" players would like to leave their club for a relegation scrap?

By all means respond literally or with rhetorical honesty.

(You may recall a week or so ago, someone actually called Seymenyo literally just traded upwards for a title chase with the petrol cheats.)

alright just replace elite with someone who walks into our first XI if we're getting pedantic about a word

True but we also have to consider we have Maddison and Kulusevski that can play in the number 10 position as well and whilst we have neither at the moment, we could have 4x10s once they're back.

£40-£50m is a lot for a square peg in a round hole long term.

Don't get me wrong I'd definitely rather that than nobody in the position we find ourselves in but think Diaby loan makes more sense for overall squad situation long term.

Let's see what happens

It would be so typical and complete malpractice if this club doesn’t act “because we have Kulu and Maddison”.

Madders, although now on grass is not going to be premier league fit until next season.

Deki may not play again this season and until I see otherwise, we need to consider he could well be done.

A proper club would replace them and worry about too many numbers 10s later. We have to worry about the now.
