That's exactly what we were sold lol
......And our finances have us firmly established as one of the BIG 6 , but the clubs ambition matches that of a bottom 6 club. Which is why we are where we are.

We knew in the summer we hadn't replaced Son. We knew we had 20 year old Odobert and Tel who had done nothing. We knew Simons would be needed at no 10 because of the Maddison and Kulu injuries. The left sided issue has been known about since Son said he was leaving on the 2nd August but the club probably knew long before that. Its not just a difficult January window issue.

There was some consensus that our summer acquisitions looked good, at least on paper. I won't change position just to suit.

The issue is now as I see it, and I believe we need to lower unrealistic expectations, and seek to bring in a couple of plsyers who help us avoid the worst.

I get the issues of best quality but we aren't getting those players right now. No chance.

And Frank is a blocker for me. Just got no idea why he is holding any sway or believe he could make the best use of quality even if he had it at his disposal

At a guess, the £65m we effectively spent that window on Danso and Tel, plus the £150m or so we spent on Simon and Kudus.

You sound like one of those people who have money that burns a hole in your pocket. I've known people who want to buy a particular car for £10k, and if the one the look at turns out to be a lemon, they'll just turn to the next nearest thing and spend the cash without doing any of the proper thought process behind it.

We shouldn't go around spunking Semenyo money on players that aren't Semenyo quality or value just because we were interested in him. That's how you end up offering £50m for Strand Larsen or £35m for James Ward Prowse

I, and most footballers, look at the football league first.

Not the money league.

Oh, and Semenyo went to City, who are above us in the pretty little league you've posted.

So by your own logic, Semenyo was always out of league as he went to a richer club
