And this is the key.
People look at 76 games and 104 points.
But the reduction on PPG over the course of the time here was far more telling than the overall points.
76 games 104 points is 1.36ppg. Not great but not dreadful I guess. It's top half.
But literally after the first 10 games for the rest of his time it drops to 1.18 which is a 45 point season. You're bottom 1/4 of the league.
Just break the 2 seasons into 4 1/4's
Q1 = 39 points
Q2 = 27 points
Q3 = 24 points
Q4 = 14 points

Literally a demonstrable reduction in points every 1/4 consistently.

If Frank had the same points after 4 quarters but it was reversed, he's doing well.

Ange, like Klopp, like Frank actually is a culture-first type of coach. Same as the NZL All Blacks in Rugby and numerous other serial winners. Read some Daniel Coyle like the Culture Code. Coaches like that always need to have the feel of being a cult leader because they need to persuade their players and fans to believe in something that may not be easily believable.

People tend to overrate logical things like tactics and misunderstand that emotion is what decides winning. That emotion that Ange got from his players with the speeches and the videos of their families is why they win. You can go into it conscious of that, i knew with Ange from the start, it was about choosing to buy in, now he's gone we move on to the next but if you think Frank will be that different, rewatch all his videos about culture, he is following all the same research and authors when it comes to building a winning culture. It's going to be very similar. Just look at thinktank thinktank and his posts, he's already all the way in on Frank.

I'd be "all the way in" with Iraola, Glassner, Xavi.

Anyone who could actually coach, was tactically proficient and didn't have to gaslight to compensate for their inadequacies/deficiencies.

Once you get to the later rounds it can be tougher, as then you've got the likes of Man City, Woolwich, Liverpool etc. It's still just a one of game though (apart from the stupid League Cup semis) so anything can happen especially if you've got home advantage.

Whereas in the Europa the knockout stages are two legged so that evens things out somewhat. Plus there's all the traveling. The Europa League is much harder than either domestic cup, in my opinion. Even the Conference Cup is harder, once you take into account the amount of games and the long distances to get there.

For what it's worth, Tamworth was the end for me. I know Andy Peaks very well, and he was in no fear at all about the tie, and disappointed when they lost the game.
