The way we played this season got me so apathetic I don't feel any excitement at all, as though I'm watching any other Premier league matches and I could only watch on TV. We have to give it to the away fans for shelling out their time and money but deserve nothing of an excitement back. If Frank tries to undermine them again later in his presser then he's truly a huge cunt in disguise.

Anyway the away fans have spoken, loud and clear. His time will be up soon.

Like I said in the match thread we played against a team with one of the best home records in the whole league without
Udogie
Maddison
Kulusevski
Solanke
Bergvall
Sarr
Xavi

And Johnson has just been sold. We have little to no attacking threat so being conservative and building on a point was what he went for and achieved. I don't really get what people realistically want? We don't have the personnel to do anything else?? Do people not get this???
I’ll tell you what I want , a team that can progress the ball forward through the midfield with the ability to pass to their own player without a hopeful hoof . A team that is not totally reliant on set pieces , a team where we don’t go to Brentford away and see our keeper get a yellow card for time wasting at 0-0 , a team that has an identity that plays with intensity at home . 19 games gone and I can list 10 that have been unwatchable and some of the worst football I’ve ever seen . If we were negative and played counter attacking I would be ok with that , but it’s literally hoof to Richarlison and hope for the best , we have no other idea of how to get the ball up the field .

I think Sunday will be the final nail in his coffin.

When you lose the hard-core away support you're generally done.

Surely another limp performance on Sunday sees him gone.

The ownership will be desperate for a convincing home win on Sunday to calm the storm but I can't see it.

You can't have watched that game tonight along with every other game this season and honestly think that anything is being built here ?
I definitely do.

The defensive performances and our away performances suggest his building from the back which is our strongest area by a mile. That's why we have the best away record in the league because the emphasis is on the home team to attack meaning our defensive unit and team structure is highlighted.

He doesn't rate half the squad. He doesn't rate Johnson, he doesn't rate Tel, he doesn't rate Odobert, he doesn't rate any of our midfield options..any of them and it's clear (bar maybe Bentancur). He feels he has to be defensive because he doesn't fucking rate anyone and a large portion of our attacking threat are out injured FFS.

Is it pretty? Absolutely not but Im a realist and I get what he's working with. People compare him to Nuno but Nunos downfall was that he started tweaking what he was actually good at (which was a solid defensive structure) to appease the gormless fanbase. I'm happy that Frank is sticking to his convictions and is absolutely aware what our strengths and absolute weaknesses are regardless of our fanbase 'supporting' the team by singing songs about ex players.

Struggles related to set play are one thing. I think I've come to terms with them.

What about the transition play though? Isn't the whole point of ceding possession to teams, the way he has been doing in an open manner in the last 2 games in particular, to initiate fast breaks like these after winning the ball in deep areas ? Wasn't he supposed to be at least decent at coaching these patterns?

If West Ham in the midst of a relegation battle can do all these inside the first 20 minutes of a single game, why can't we after half a season with Frank in charge?

Correct - messaging/coaching.

You see him giving a pat to our players and egging them on at full time as if we just drew away to Barca and none of the players responded feeling encouraged told you all you need to know about his ambitions and perception from the players - uninspiring.

Frank is a wet noodle but lets be honest our squad is beyond average. Not one stand out player who can create or inspire anything. No striker. Just carbon copy athletes with zero footballing ability. We have the worst recruitment in the league. I’d rather we loan in some 32 year old veterans with a bit of experience at this point.

I genuinely think no top manager will want to come now . Poch is the best we can maybe get in the summer and I am fine with that . It’s what we do until then that is the worry , this cannot go on much longer .

I don’t care about “top managers” at the point. We’ve got NFL/Beyonce concert money, we’ve got a giant crowd of people in the DOF office, surely with all of that we can find SOMEONE in this great big world of football who can set us up better.

We don’t have the pace to counter, any more.

I definitely do.

That's a very reasonable post, but I think that lack of any form of attacking structure is hugely alarming. The amount of times we just punt it long to no-one, or cross it aimlessly into the box is really grim viewing. We've seen these same players play out from the back under Ange, so we know they have it in them to do that - they don't have to be as risky as Angeball demanded but there's definitely a middle ground.

Maybe the attack is 'the next layer' but it's been over 6 months and I've seen managers come in and do better with worse teams a hell of a lot quicker, sometimes without a pre-season.

I'm not expecting miracles and the squad clearly needs a lot of work, but I think if we just give Frank all the players he wants he'll simply turn us into a shiny version of Brentford.

My overall sense of the guy is that he's lowering us to his level rather than raising himself to where we want/need to be, and I suspect that's the way it will continue. Maybe if we give him a couple hundred million more on good players he'll get us into Europe next season - I can't see it this season at all - but the ceiling feels very low under Frank.
