After 16 games is quite a specific stopping point, seeing as we have played 20 league games now.
It was also boosted enormously by 3 goals in a 4-3 loss to Chelsea and a battering of Southampton in G/W 16.
A look at the actual matches also paints a picture worth noting. 5 Vs Southampton, 4 Vs City, 4 Vs Everton, 4 Vs West Ham, 4 Vs Villa.
Buuuut 1 Vs Leicester, 1 Vs Newcastle, 1 Vs Ipswich, 1 Vs Fulham, 0 Vs Arse, Palace or Bournemouth.
We didn't win a single game where we scored 1. We didn't even draw a game where we didn't score at all.

Under no circumstances should we be looking back fondly on last season.
We lost 7 of those 16. We've only lost 7 of 20 so far.
At M/W 20, we'd already lost 10.
Liverpool put 6 past us.
From MW 17 we lost 6 of 7 games a draw stopping it being 7 in a row. By MILES the worst run of results in the PL era.

ANGE WAS AWFUL.
Even if Frank continues being some degree of wank for the rest of the season, at least people will stop doing the stupid "this season vs last season" comparisons soon, as we literally got about 10 points in 4 months from this point on last season.

Frank's bad but there's no way we'll be that epically shit in the 2nd half of the season.

I don't know if he's that bad coaching attacking movements or our players are so shite going forward. But given Richarlison is our main striker I think we could wait to see how he performs with some better players in the attacking positions.

Sixth
SIXTH
6th

Just saying.
  • The team are currently sixth in the Premier League table. Sources have told BBC Sport that the club felt there had not been sufficient evidence of evolution or progress this season under Amorim.
They didn't purely sack him for footballing reasons cos they're suddenly really ambitious. Why would they stick with him for a year of largely unadulterated dross then suddenly sack him after a few draws when they're sat 6th in the table and doing OK if it was just down the football?

They've sacked him cos he started mouthing off in the press about the board and saying he's gonna leave in 18 months when he contract is up. It's a political/personal thing rather than a football thing.

I was thinking Carrick. But you could be right.

Carrick's coming here after Villa.

This is almost as offence to me as Sol Campbells cuntface.

I think thats what bothers me with the Frank vs Ange comparison. Theyre both shit 😄

Just in different ways.

The logic seems to be "Well Ange did X last season so Frank must be good/better/doing well"

No, no it doesnt mean that at all

Would you like me to kick you in your left testicle or right? Regardless of which youre still getting kicked in the balls - thats basically the comparison

They won't pull the trigger whilst the league remains this bunched up. But if we dont win any of the next 3 he will be gone.

Just in time to waste the window

Said it all season last season.
Loss, after loss, after loss followed.
Yeah the board won't sack Frank until shit gets really bad. They'll still be hoping he pulls it around somehow I reckon.

I think the fact he's unlikeable, the football's shit and we don't have any realistic cups we can win, mean he'll get much less leeway from the fans than Ange did, though. Ange basically got a magical forcefield cos he talked a good game, we were in Europa and there was the lingering dream of replicating the form of his first 10 games once the players came back.

Frank's got none of that so if we lose 5 in a row it's gonna be utterly toxic.
