I think we can put to bed the whole "no manager can get more out of this squad" "our players are just shit" "it's impossible for anyone to get these players playing good football" narratives

Second half shows, there are gears/levels not being tapped into here

And it's no surprise the biggest difference is in approach, aggressive, positive, high tempo...

What the fuck has Frank been doing all season? Why does he make them play with the handbrake on?

And is this his last hurrah? Honestly, 30 games now is it? This is the first time he's gone for it like that. I think he knows anything less and he's sacked - I have genuine questions about what on earth he thinks he's doing/has been doing

Best 45 of the season, I suspect when he's just said "fuck it go kamikaze (by Frank standards)

As much as I enjoyed that half, it's actually winding me up what on earth has he been doing all season?

Imagine the shape we'd be in now if we started the season like this and spent 30 games tuning it?

Yep,

You wonder what the board do.

They might get Frank a player by next Saturday and see if we beat West Ham. If we do that's all but certain that relegation is off the table.

If they pull the trigger they MUST have someone to step in immediately. Absolutely crucial.

It's an unknown.

I'd love to know what was said at HT. The team have been shit for months with no cohesion. Frank has a glimmer of a chance to take advantage of that 2nd half and take the handbrake off permanently. I suspect his prep for a game is all about set pieces and how to stop the opposition, and where not to give the ball away, and that has to stop. Hopefully he has seen the atmosphere the fans can generate when the team are going all out to play decent football and win a game. bHe's been too scared of losing to embrace winning.

Either way, that’s how this squad was built to play
and also what that stadium was built to watch
Yeah I was very critical towards Ange and don't think it was the wrong decision to part ways with him but I don't think the idea of having someone like Ange was wrong. We just needed someone less extreme but with similar principles in my opinion. Instead we went with a manager from the opposite side of the spectrum.

I would sack him tonight - simply have to beat West Ham next week and dont trust him to get a win.
I'm so desperate that even a new manager bounce will do for me at this point

I'm afraid he's run his race. I take no pleasure in it. He did his best, but better managers have tried and failed here and now it's some else's turn.

It's still not going to get massively better until ENIC fuck off though.

Obviously on the ball we’re short but there is something badly wrong with us off the ball. So easy for teams to move the ball through the pitch with all the time in the world. Even direct balls in to the forwards today were getting taken down with no pressure.

Frank plays like Arteta when he had the original Woolwich squad he took over. Everything is all about out of possession positioning but minus Palhinha he doesn’t have the elite bully boy players to execute. As you say soon as handbrakes are off and Odobert, Tel and Simons can interchange we look good.

We played like Redknapp second half. Defensive players in position but attacking players given freedom and told to take the game to the opposition. Frank was sold on being this flexible Redknapp style of manager but is more Nuno.

I heard he didn't go to the changing room at half time, he was wandering around the catering area looking for an unbranded paper cup, so the players simply huddled together and said 'fuck him, we're playing Angeball this half'.

They probably just ignored him. He’s a substitute PE teacher without an ounce of authority.
