Im gonna go against the grain and stick up for Frank. Look at that front 6 below. How is anyone meant to work in the premier league with that?

.........Richarlison
Odobert...Xavi...Tel
.....Palinha...Gray

Is it any wonder they lost to Villa?

Mid table teams have better players than that. Thats why we 14th. Not Frank.

Aim your fingers at the board.

There are definitely managers out there who would have those same players playing better football than we are.

Thing is, they've effectively given Frank 6 months... And it's not just not working, there's not even an indication it might...
So if effect, he's had an interim period of time, and can go while there's still SOME element of the season to salvage (League positions only I mean)

If they got in someone LIKE Klinsmann, or even a Robbie Keane/Redknapp 'dream team' until the Summer, they would still have the same amount of time Frank has had, and if it gets us somewhere, great... But if not, then they know it's only temporary until the Summer, when (I assume) the club will go crawling back to Poch!

The feel good factor alone that would bring us worth the compensation they'd have to pay Frank off with.. And might even benefit us with the new new manager bounce for once!
Keane isnt leaving a full time job to do 6 months

He looks and sounds absolutely defeated.

Hard to be enthusiastic with the season all but over tonight, he just looks like he's had enough.
This is done.

There is no realistic path back for him.

We aren going out of the CL in that playoff round.

The football is nowhere near good enough to finish in the top 12... let alone top 5.
The players dont look interested. He doesn't command any respect.

It's just done and prolonging this is a dereliction of duty.

Klinsmann?? F*** no. We’d be relegation contenders. It’s a poorly constructed squad..that’s the bottom line. Like that Independent article asked at the end, how many players of ours would CL teams take if they had the option? Apart from VDV and maybe Romero ..not many. Certainly not any of the current available forwards.

He has been ceding possession heavily recently, starting with the game where he allowed Palace 62 percent: A team that average just 43.

Brentford a few days later had 56 despite averaging only 46, and Sunderland a few days after that also had 51 despite averaging 42. That's certainly a brave strategy for a Spurs manager to resort to for consecutive games, but I'm not going to get into that.

My question is rather this: What's the point of ceding possession, defending this deep and with this many men if you're going to allow the opponent to force the ball right into the heart of your defense at will anyway?

This is not a one-off incident: We had a similar embarrassing display against Woolwich too remember, where they carved us wide open despite Frank using an unprecedented 5-2-3 solely to shut up shop.

Not good at all.
The two goals we conceded are downright embarrassing. I'm a Spurs player and the oppo does that to me, I'm retiring from the game the next day. As for the manager, well...

Yeah mate. The Stellini/Mason interregnum was the worst period in living memory.

That's what I fear.

But maybe I'm wrong 🤷‍♂️

Edit: obviously this only works if Frank still holds some authority within the playing group. I think he does but I couldn't possibly know for sure.
Not sure he does... did you see them look at each other when he was showing them something on his board... look like they ignored him and did their own thing.

Can we please end that tragedy? Please sack him and get a manager that is worth the name and able to manage a big club. An interim for the rest of the season is ok for me, But then please get Poch, Glasner, Fabregas (I know many here hate me for nameing him, but he does a super job at Como) , Enrique or at least Xavi. I want to see entertaining football again!

Mate, shame you haven't provided those numbers when we have hired him.

I would not feel like a clown right now since i was initially happy when we he came here 😬
I also hadn't known this stuff until very recently to be honest. I knew that Brentford under him weren't exactly bossing possession week in and week out, but how long / direct their passing actually was also wasn't apparent to me.

Only after seeing the way Keith Andrews has taken it to an extreme this season did I start searching for some past Brentford data, just to see if it would be possible for Frank to gradually evolve in a much more positive direction with better players. Because the highly plausible explanation of Andrews simply picking up where Frank left off was quite disturbing.

Well here we are..

------

For comparison, here are some short passing data from Nuno's Wolves teams, the guy that Frank has been compared against the most:
  • 18 /19 : 15th in number of attempts & 10th in success rate
  • 19 /20 : 12th in number of attempts & 11th in success rate
  • 20 / 21 : 11th in number of attempts & 6th in success rate
I mean..

If Nuno failed here quite spectacularly and was also the Nth choice to begin with

and

If Frank's Brentford teams were significantly worse at keeping the ball & passing it around then Nuno's Wolves teams..

Who not only brought TF here, but also did so by identifying him as a prime target?
