Ange's team was downgraded from Conte's; Frank's team (right now) is a downgrade from Ange etc..

Change the manager by all means (20mill out of the transfer pot, btw), but a lot of these players aren't currently up to scratch and won't be for a few years (Berg, Gray, Simons, Odobert, even VdV who thinks he's the second-coming). Plus, you've got to clear out the deadwood that are unhelpful or downright obstructive to any system a manager tries to implement (Romero, Spence, Biss, RKM - probably others) and then the just 'not-good-enough'' list (Vic, Porro, post-injury Bentancur, Richy) - leaving us with a grand total of 3 or 4 players who might be alright and professional enough to build around - two of which are a bit hit-and-miss (and injured) Kulu, Maddison, a new boy in Gallagher so no-one knows and Solanke who we still can't tell after a long-period of mis/under-coaching and a long-term injury.

We need to be honest about where we are: the start of a long rebuild, but someone's sent the wrong parts.

Worse than when Poch took over, by a long stretch.

EDIT: Could it be 'turned around' by a serious 'old-school' manager a la Celtic and O'Neill? We need someone who can motivate the team and put a bit of structure in place for the massive egos. Perhaps there's also a 'Gallagher will take the captaincy thought in place' in making that purchase quickly and outright? Won't help the current situation, although he can at least run around as required (at present).

The squad is worse.

However Frank’s vision/ideas is not going to fix things - both statements can be true.

Who looks at Bergvall and says to himself “his strongest skill is his long throws”.

Anyone with common sense who assessed our midfield would say it lacked composure and passing ability. He’s actively exacerbated the issue through new recruits and his playing style.

Now reports are emerging that he turned down the chance to sign Lookman because he prefers Schade.

If Pochettino were to return, at the basic level I’d 100% trust in him to say, “we lack profile of player x, y, z - go recruit them”.

I always found at the profiling level, he operated with a lot of common sense. As did Jol and Redknapp.

100% both things may be true. I think that pragmatism (and let's be honest, this was Conte and Mourinho, too) can be either positive - let's go and try to play the 'best' football (Poch with Winks, Sissoko, Trippier vs Walker, Dele's brother) - or negative - let's not give away silly goals, sit back, try and play safe passes and get the ball into the opposition box as quickly and safely as possible (long throws, long balls).

One we prefer to have in our club, one we don't. I think they're both results of the same poor standard of squad. The issue we have rn is that moving the ball quickly forward leaves us with no-one who can hold it up or score. FWIW, Son would also have failed as he never had the physical presence for this ugly football.

If we change manager, we need one that will appease the fans by trying to make the most of the faulty components and play actual football - but we also need to be well-and-truly aware that we won't suddenly be able to pass to our own team, or run any faster, or move into space because that is who these players are right now.

Hopefully, next manager will be more in line with what we hope and gets better backing from the board.

Sadly, we have the rest of this season to endure - whatever happens.

I genuinely don’t think his inevitable sacking will fix anything. This is not a defense of Frank (I generally think he’s a mediocre PL coach who’s out of his depth) but rather that he can’t overcome a spoilt and completely misaligned squad. He hasn’t got the force of personality or the tactical edge, but even if he had them both, we’d be about 7th or 8th, nowhere near challenging for anything.

The biggest issue you can ever have at a club is if making changes to the biggest positions (manager/sporting director) doesn’t actually change things.

Out with the Frank and in with the new scapegoat to guide us to 13th. That’s basically the only thing I see changing.
We’re in a relegation fight and nothing else. I’d take 17th again right now.

"I know it sounds a little bit crazy, but we are closer to something very good, than further away," said the Dane.

"I think you all saw the game today, we could easily have won this one 2-1."

If ever there is a quote that highlights how the manager of Tottenham Hotspur FC doesn't understand Tottenham Hotspur FC then this is it.

We shouldn't be close to winning 2-1 against a struggling West Ham at home after a week to prepare.

We should be looking to smash them by three or four goals. We should be dominating games against the smaller sides, even in their cup final.

How far have we fallen that we should all have been happy with a lucky 2-1 win if we had fluked it?

I've never hated a manager and I don't hate Thomas. He just keeps making it blatantly clear he isn't the man for the job so let's get it over with and move on.

The fans have had enough.

The board can keep him on for a few more games in desperation if they like.

It's just delaying the inevitable.

I already see him as gone, sacked.

The board can keep pretending all they like, the fans are done with him

It's over.

I’d snap your hand off for 13th this season - we’re sleep walking towards oblivion at the moment. Lose at Burnley next week coupled with a West Ham win and there’s only 7 points between us - and they will have all the momentum with 3 wins on the bounce

100pc.

Even with Archie Gray starting - who is not a PL level player - that team should have comfortably beaten WH. Disgrace

Has to go.
