Every pundit and footy reporter (not to mention other prem managers) will tell you this guy is a very, very good manager that has performed miracles with peanuts.

Not that they should have to.
I would argue that Nuno out performed Frank this season with a similar squad and counter attacking style.

What happened to Nuno when he came to Spurs?

People seem to forget this isn't Brentford this is one of the biggest clubs In England with entirely different expectations.

There is no guarantee whatsoever he can cut it at Spurs.

Best case scenario and he does ok pHe is a side grade from Ange

The Nuno comparison doesn’t really work because he was the 10th manager in line for the job. Frank seems to be our number one target which makes it slightly different

Nope

He was sacked because he went against his own words

1) Ange said why should we throw away a game to City (for denying Woolwich) and we should always win AND he threw the entire second half of PL even when he had players back

2) He said he will never go back on his philosophy & walked it back again in EL.

The injury crisis were his own making. Even if you completely excuse him out of it , our PL form since dec2023 is terrible.

This is why he is getting sacked.

Jog on now 🤣

So do you agree or disagree that he was sacked because of our PL form in the season that we won a trophy and qualified for the CL?

You still haven't told me how Frank is going to finish 5th or win a trophy or qualify for the CL, or do it all in the same season.

Are there any places that Frank fans are willing to bet he will finish next season or is it all just talking shite.

If it’s Poch or Frank, I am for Poch too . But can’t see him leave US job.

Otherwise, points you say will be applicable to 90% of linked candidates.
I agree, that's why it's hard to understand the "Frank is head and shoulders above the others" take. You can make as good a case for Iraola or Glasner. Glasner just outcoached Pep to win a cup with a team where the most expensive signing is Eddie Nketiah.

I absolutely do not want Frank. Disaster waiting to happen. If they hired Poch, get me the fuck out of here. You all talk about Ange being inept. That guy fumbled a golden generation and didn't even have a league cup to show for it. His last year at the club was utterly dross. Teams worked out that if you lie deep, we can't hurt them. Absolutely not.

If he can shore us up for 12 months until after the USMNT win the world cup, Poch may then fancy having a go at unfinished business.

Forest played snatch and block all season.

Totally different styles.

To be fair to Nuno he would have had to have hit the road running after the toxic manager hunt that proceeded his appointment.

That was unique in the history of out club.

The fans were traumatised out for blood.

Never experienced, or know of, a managerial shitshow like that here.

We're a big club on a tight budget because of Baldcunt.

You can ignore it all you want; there' no magic wand that will make it work for an Inzaghi, mate.

Any 'elite' manager you think we're only now deserved of after being graced with Ange's 'sublime expertise' is taking one sniff of Levy's bullshit and putting the phone down.

You have no idea what the best case would be irt Frank.

And I certainly don't trust your judgement wanting to keep the manager who plummeted us to the arse end of the table.

I am sure Frank will improve our results in all comps if it’s him.

I am not sure he’s the sort of manager who will ever win the league, but if in two years time we are not in striking distance, I am confident he will at least have us much closer to it and the next will have something to build on.

This task isn’t exactly enviable from a football perspective. The club is in a bad state and so is the squad. It’s both too thin for four comps and lacks the quality required for CL. There will be pressure from the Ange fans.

But, there is nowhere to go but up. This may be a good time for a hire like this.

And who knows. Frank may prove to be more than we think.

I understand your grievance with him, but we were the most relentless, exciting, tenacious and consistently dominant side I can ever remember watching when we were being managed by Poch.

So Thomas Frank's experience and pedigree is based on working well with tight budgets to get more out of mostly decent but not amazing players.

Is it Levy's intention that Spurs spend very little and hope that Frank can work miracles, I wonder? Does Levy see Spurs as that kind of team, with no real plan to buy top players, for a top stadium, if he's about to appoint a decent manager, but not one you could call a top manager (because he hasn't got a track record to suggest that he is a top manager, at least yet). It's basically another Levy gamble.

Now we'll be able to participate in the transfer window, having only missed a week of it, thank God. The new coach will have players in mind. Someone like Frank will know precisely what he wants, too, so that's good (and who he doesn't want). Could be an interesting Summer.

We were, until teams worked out how to play against us. He's never been able to rectify that either. He won a ligue 1, but you or I could've done that, and was lucky he survived his first season. He couldn't change up and football is passing him by. With a mostly fully fit team, his record in the league in his last 24 games we won 6 drew 7 lost 11. If it wasn't for the CL run, he'd have been sacked that season. He looked lost in his last year, afraid to make subs until the 70th-80th minutes and refused to drop his golden boys despite dropping 5/10's for months. I felt sorry for him, but towards the end, he was done.

Not winning anything with that side is unforgivable. And nothing he's done since tells me bringing him back would be a good idea.

He'll still get sacked here.
I hadn't considered this. He's been stable in his job at Brentford for years. There's a high statistical probablility he'll be claiming JSA within 2 years after accepting this position.

Good luck to the feller if he takes it.

Managers seem to love drinking from the Spurs poisined chalice
