Adam Mcleary said that half the Liverpool board wanted to hire him before they opted for Slot, tells you how sought after he was.

There were definitely fans who put their cocks on the blocks and said they didn't care if we lost if it was pretty.
I called bullshit then and maintain that now. You can't lose pretty. Losing is ugly.
...but you CAN win ugly!!

Hallmark of Champions, that when Liverpool or Man Utd and especially the Arse used to do it ...

... until WE did it in the EL Final, then it was boring and undeserved, and sacrificing all our principles!

You can of course. We didn't do it often enough under Ange if that's what you're getting at. We did it when it mattered the most, but 85% of the time was AIDS.

I'm happy with Frank, I think he'll do well. I want to enjoy watching us again, and watch us look like we have a plan and a coherent side. I think he does that.

I think this was the common misconception about what Spurs fans really WANT...
yes, attractive football, but NOT at the expense of actually winning games...

The pragmatic approach has it's place in the game... It's not beneath us (same as the Europa League wasn't 'beneath us') luckily Ange realised that just in time ... But it almost cost us our PL status!

Hopefully Frank knows the difference between entertainment for entertainment's sake, and common sense.
There's a place for both, and I think/hope/assume he knows how to combine both!
This exactly, there are times and teams when you can be a bit expansive. But there are times when, you need to sit deeper and wait for moments.
I want winning football and that involves both elements.
I never understood Ange's naviety, he was such a dreamer, but he won a trophy and I thank him for that.

Great appointment imo. Likeable guy, done an amazing job at Brentford. I can't see us going down, so next season should be better (in terms of league form). Hope he gets backed though with players who he wants. Could be a very interesting few years if he starts well.
