One bad performance and everyone’s shit. Yes we were absolutely hopeless but why do you think he wanted a player like MGW ? A creative force that could drive us on in games like this. He didn’t get that, didn’t get Eze but luckily got Simons which is a start.

Frank has probably decided that Simons will be out left sided starter imo so a creative player is still needed. If however he has decided Simons will play centrally then a left sided dribbler is needed.
After today I’m leaning towards another 10 being the better option when through I always thought the wide player was more important. After the Simons signing maybe let him play on the left where he is comfortable and buy a player to play the 10. Thing is, there’s more options out there in wide positions.

Yeah true. Once my frustrations calm down I'll be curious to hear what he thinks went wrong. That was where Ange went wrong. He would always be talking to his shoes in the interview and wouldn't seem to ever identify the problems. I actually thought Frank's subs were the right choices today. I'd have made the same changes so can't fault him on that.

Maybe conceding a goal after 5 mins completely screwed our game plan. I dunno. But Palinha/Bentancur/Sarr in a midfield 3 is not the answer when you are at home against non-top 6 teams. We looked much better once Bergval was on. Its a lesson learned I hope. Be interesting to see what he says.

Its a terrible trend we have losing before every international break with this group of players. I really hope this trend does not go unnoticed! We have to break this! Its no coincidence at this stage - players are dropping below their 100% level in these games every time. Porro and Richarlison were miles off it today. Richie probably spent the whole week thinking about being back in the Brazil squad. We need to address this. There is 4 international breaks every season and we can't just accept getting 0 from 12 again. This is something Frank and his staff need to be all over and warn the fuck out of them next time.

My view on what went wrong was possibly Frank seeing Bournemouth at home as the same as City away. Completely different puzzle to solve and we didn't, plus if you concede a goal early doors, that's where you need creativity but it's also important for the players to be able to dismiss the losing home trend of last season.

The right changes always shows clarity of thought. Massively important. It's less that they always work, and more that they are objectively the right call at the right time.

I don't put much credence into losing before an international break. Just one of those quirks, but breaking out of it is needed.

We need to rebound in 2 week's time, against a team we know will somehow find a performance against us. It's a shame to lose today for many reasons, with one being that 3 games in a row allows you a bit of a breather. Now it's pretty essential that we don't lose against West Ham, just to keep that better feeling going.

Hopefully we are also buoyed by another player or two before the window closes, but if not, with a returning and fit Solanke, who needs to come to the fore.

We need a ceiling raiser, I think we have missed a player with personality on the ball for a while whilst our players don't want to take responsibility.

Agree about Palhinha, this was my reservation before we signed him, he's not the guy to set the tempo or play quick passes although with a player like Simons on the pitch ball progression in midfield improves.
Palinha is probably one of the world's best, if not the best at breaking up play, tackling, sniffing out danger. But he's not the best footballer. He's not going to control a midfield. That's why I would've preferred an Ederson over him. Obviously not as good as the pure defensive stuff, but night and day as a footballer.

If you think one player would've made the difference there, you're bananas.

Our left wing is bottom half standard. Our strikers are bottom half half standard. Yes, we'll look a bit better when Xavi is playing. But we're in 3 cups, he can't play every minute. Our squad depth is ridiculously poor. There's no one that's going to go on and make a huge difference.

20 minutes into the game today we had people falling apart, calling the team shit, saying the manager needs to go, same old predictable bollocks.

After the transfer window we’ve had I’m taking a break from this place. Such an insanely toxic environment. Not to mention the people who have no interest talking about the club, all they want to do is ragebait and wind people up.

I know there used to be a load of cunt offs but I don’t think it ever used to be like this.

Cool so we should just give up and call it a day?

We have Simons and I’m saying a player in addition to Simons. Would 2 players have made a difference today imo? Yes.

Well, he was aware of the likely battle in midfield, but he still didn't set us up effectively enough to deal with it.

Spacing was totally wrong and was a key error for me, especially in the first half.

I'd have made a change at 30 mins today. Was evident we couldn't cope, very early on. Porro would've got yanked off early on too as they were targeting him, with one of the best players in the league, and we didn't put enough support on that side for him.

I'm still on the fence about TF. Certainly lots of encouraging things, but today was inexcusable and he had no answers for it. And we get to stew over it for a couple of weeks. Joy.

The fans are scared and scarred from last season, and a portion will be Postecoglou fans, who bizarrely retain the thought that the bloke should still be at the club.

I see the booing as fear, and being desperate to have been top, even for a few hours.

We must be close to the record for the amount of times a game won could mean top spot, only to lose it. Weird.

I see a post above talking of the quality of our wingers and strikers. Agree on the strikers, and more than wingers, their mediocre standard is nearly impossible to rectify.

By this time next season, I thonk both Rucharlison and Solanke need to be upgraded.

Said this after we signed him.

Look in matches like today his limitations are going to be exposed especially since we don't have a ball progressor on the pitch, I think with a player like Simons covers him limitations because you have a player who wants the ball and wants take responsibility.

Aot of middle ground there buddy. No, we shouldn't give up, drama queen. We need reinforcements, we've known this for months.

Even with two players I doubt it makes much of a difference. This was a system miscalculation by Frank and he failed to cope.

Without signing more, actual quality players, yeah it's the top brass giving up on the season, and it should've been sorted weeks ago. Today should've been a reality check for everyone at the club, happy clappers should be able to recognize there's a lot of work to be done.

Nice to see Mrs Perryman Mrs Perryman . Nutter-Naylor Nutter-Naylor Shades Shades and Mick Cooper Mick Cooper

The match, not so much!

Show one message here that says he needs replaced.

More propaganda from the ENIC FC supporters I suspect.

The booing won't be aimed at Frank, you know that. If there was it's because they were frustrated with his set up and leaving it too late to change it up. That's frustration, not pitchforks.

Even with the Xavi singing, we're well, well short of a squad that can realistically be competitive in 4 competitions. That's why people are pissed. We needed this before the window shut imo.
