And timeouts……….
Maybe they need to introduce a first down too.
Thinking about it 2 points from scoring outside the box and 3 points for scoring from your own half.

Hopefully the US World Cup and another tournament in the Middle East will bring this game into the 25th century!

Football should be about entertainment!!

Very good.

Still think 1 Timeout per team per game and replace VAR with a head coach challenge.

If he can make me think it’s worthwhile to go to games and that we arent going to concede lots of goals or lose before we’ve even kicked off then he's doing his job. So far so good.

It is a month into the season.

Similar for me. Frank has got me looking forward to the next game, confident, or optimistic at least, that we will see the team put in a performance and hard to beat and won't concede as many goals.

After the shit show of the last 2 years, really it's like Christmas right now. I posted on here many times last season that I had fallen out of love with football because of how shit we are, and Frank is bringing that excitement back.

It’s early for this mate

I don’t think Frank will ever make us peak Barcelona with the ball but we’re definitely going to improve. There’s a lot of new cogs added to the starting 11, they will make us better just by building chemistry together. Frank’ is the type to study and learn the patterns of play he needs to fit the players he has.

You can’t play champagne football every week and even when you do, it doesn’t guarantee wins, it’s a massive positive that we have ways to win games whether we play our best or not.
Not expecting prime Barca, prime Poch might be nice. The concern I have is that a few on here seem content with pragmatic football... I completely oppose the view that you can't be solid and entertaining and I also don't agree with this view that we will need 12/18 months before we see some sort of attacking chemistry. Last Saturday Woolwich had a new striker, new left wing, new right wing, new midfielder, didn't concede and probably should have won six of seven nil. Maybe what we are witnessing might actually be our best under Frank, and that there is no champagne football on the horizon and sooner rather than later there will be more Bournemouth type games than Burnley type games. Yes happy we are winning but this isn't sustainable in this league and I have yet to see anything to suggest Frank can hit Poch levels.

i think he is very grateful for the opportunity to be the manager of this club, it shows. He won't win every game etc but pleased that he is here. Seems to be getting things organised and in it for the long term whether its Spurs or elsewhere later... in my opinion.

Fine to have concerns at this stage but it's also fine to have faith, Frank will fix it.

But they have had the same manager for 6 years.

go back and see comments about him and his football in his first 2 seasons...

Youre expectations are way beyond any kind of reality, and using woolwich as an example proves that.

Also, nothing in Poch's first 5 games suggested what we would see 1.5 years later.

Here's a sample of a post after 4/5 games of his in charge after we drew 2-2 with sunderland, before the loss to west brom

Never wanted this guy and predicted in the summer that he'd be gone by Christmas. It's quite clear to me that we have made a BIG mistake in this managerial appointment. Bring on the haters now, the people who will call me a knee-jerker, but I know a man who is dead in the water when I see him and that is what I see when I see Poch. Also, notice how several pages from now over the next few weeks, the Poch out crew will begin to develop and grow as he gets closer to his inevitable sacking. This isn't a gag-post, the man is just not up to the job. Time will prove me right and we'll be back to where we started - looking for a new manager.

Hoping we see Simons in the 10 more. Can see why the club wanted a left winger in the summer. If we had got Savinho would have been great.

Below I think should be a nice balance in the midfield for now.

Bergvall Palhinha Simons

Frank is quite the flexible coach so I assume he would have learned a lot the last few games.

There was nothing in Poch’s first six months to suggest he would hit Poch levels.

Arteta has been at Woolwich for 5 years. Frank has been here 5 games. We finished 17th last season. Your expectations are not just unrealistic, they are ridiculous.

I've had to put him on ignore for my own sanity to save me from getting myself binned lol. He just comes out with the most over-the-top nonsensical statements.

Fair play to you for your patience. And 100% agree with your post here.

Frank definitely doesn't need 12/18 months and he won't get that. By late November we will be seeing good football if we are ever going to see it. Maybe not consistently but we will see it.

Prime Poch was stodgy af regulary. I sat through some absolute turd in Wembley but we won games. At times we were amazing but the good memories for Poch seem to carry more nostalgia than the truth which was Poch was a pragmatist.

I dont think that is true at all. What people are relieved at is not playing Ange's suicidal football. There is an easy balance between defending at attacking, it doesnt have to be one extreme or another. That's what I have been arguing for most of 2025 anyway. Frank will get us there with any luck, impossible to say he wont after only 5 games.

I'm hoping Frank doesnt hit the Poch level of not winning away from home for 12 months, I can definitely say that!

You've chosen a period of Poch's tenure where he had suffered numerous transfer windows with no help. Are you really surprised we couldn't win away. Some of best football I have seen since I started going in the late 90s was under Poch but you stick to your narrative.

People really need to get a firmer grasp on what this word means, because it's not what most of you seem to think it means...

You have to put things in the proper context, we lost 22 league matches last season and let any old rubbish score multiple goals against us. Frank has 3 out of 4 clean sheets in the PL and is already halfway towards the total from last season. He's done superb work on the defence, using the same players but with a proper organisation and structure.

The attack will take a lot more time to get going, Maddison, Deki and Solanke are crocked while Son has left the club and Johnson demoted to the bench. He is using a completely different set of players in attack and we have to give them time to build an understanding.

Tbf to Frank, our attacking play was horrible without Maddison the past two seasons, even playing “Angeball” with a more attacking setup.

Eternally underrated player. He made it all tick. I will miss you all season mate.

He took Palhinha off? Or do you mean he brought Palhinha on? That move wasn't meant to make the attack fluid, which was my point. That was Frank's way of slowly shutting up shop and trying to play on the break. Palhinha was never going to go as high as Sarr and Bentancur was then playing even deeper to help the CBs.
Yes, Palhinha started on the bench. It was the change most in here wanted, because we needed to retain the ball and not regain it. But it didn't work and, as we were winning, Palhinha in wasn't a bad sub. In fact he did very well to keep the result.
