Love how involved Frank is on the touchline, he’s always back and forth with his staff and players, never standing still.

This squad however, will fall short sooner or later, and he’ll end up carrying the blame, on this board he’s never more than two losses from a Frank-out thread.
C'mon, we have Solanke, Muani and Dragusin to return soon. Let's hope we can have some luck some moment.

Haven't dropped points after going ahead in a game and not conceded in the last 15 minutes of a game. Almost like a complete mirror image of last season.

- Not lost away from home
- 1 defeat in 11 games
- 2nd fewest goals conceded
- Tied 2nd goals scored!!!!!!
- Banished habit of losing int'l break games
- Only team to beat Leeds at home in over a YEAR (since September 2024).

Magical Bournemouth couldn't do it.
Everton couldn't do.
Newcastle couldn't do it.

Put some damned respect on his name, you ungrateful bums.

Yeah this. He's got the job of turning round an ocean liner from last season. We’ve got a whole attack missing. He has his work cut out improving what we have and today for example we could have been two up with better finishing. We just look to not quite have the quality to properly dispatch teams like Leeds so have to graft for the win. It will continue to be like that until we can get kulusevski/solanke back or until the window opens.

We can see he is managing the squad and players through a lot of games and we’ve only lost once. Can’t really complain if we all take a step back and think about it.
For me the truth has always been somewhere in between. The turn around looks harder than it is because we were so incredibly shit last season (and half of the season before) - but we were so incredibly shit because we were being managed by an amateur completely out of his depth.

Ange was a massive anchor for 18 months dragging down what was, in truth, a squad that any qualified manager would have comfortably got to 6th-8th.

I think Frank is much better than just a "qualified manager", and I really like the progress we're seeing. I believe we're building something very good here.

That said, at this point during his first season people thought we were onto a gem with Ange.

Footballing nerds are going to absolutely hate this guy.

Again, our xG looks atrocious but I just watched that 90 minutes and I felt we created plenty of quality chances.

Frank seems to consistently get performances that look much better on the eye than what xG claims.
Because stats are limited and have encouraged a influx of dorks into the game, who know nothing about football, to pretend they that they do.

Thank you for being clear-minded, reasonable and not totally nuts.

Refreshing to read on here.

The push for xG and other deep stats have to be driven by the gambling industry? Right? At least in part.

People want stuff that they can bet on that isn't just who wins.

Not sure, it has been used in by scouts for a while but the "eye test" is still more important. I don't think it is totally useless but it can be very misleading. Take Leeds goal, what is that? A 0.9 Xg? In addition we were dominating in the second half and then scored (I mean statistically as well as generally). After that we shut up shop and they were on the attack. Xg doesn't take that into account.

Better at the back than Ange? Do I really need to justify that with a response? Forest went from hard to beat under Nuno, to conceding the most goals in the league over night. Again, anyone could coach a defence better than Ange did. Not a big secret.

When did I say we don't commit men into the final third, at any point? My issue is that when we have the ball centrally, we pass it around a bit, then either backwards or out to the wing. That's it. That's what I'm disillusioned at. If you have plenty of examples that show the contrary, by all means, show me them.

I'm considering the statistics with the variables. Hence why I've mentioned that we've had a very favourable schedule, we've scored 4 goals over our expected amount, which is huge for this stage of a season. We're currently the third most clinical team in the league, and without a serviceable forward, that's not sustainable as long as we play the way we do.
I've given comparisons to Brentford, who are in a very similar position, in that 3 of their best players are no longer there, except they're being coached by a rookie manager, and are finding their feet. Pretty much every one of our players are better than theirs right now, but they can attack the ball, they can create chances.

All I want to see are shoots of improvement. I don't think we're winning the league or every match. But not being dreadful for the most part of 90 mins is getting hard to take. Again, going back to context, we've had a nice schedule. Couldn't really ask for better so far. After Leeds, the calibre of opponent picks up massively. Playing like we are now, there's going to be embarrassing results in there, because we're not coming from a goal or two behind every single game.

You're the one blaming everything on the last manager. Yet I'm the unhinged one. Right oh bud. I'll chat with you in December 👍
What a load of BS
