Everyone knows there was a context around the 17 th finish.

IMO Postecoglou's situation was tougher with the way Conte left the club, and then Kane leaving literally on the eve of the season kick off. The whole thing was toxic.

Frank inherited a squad with high morale and unity. He has had the back 5 or 6 more or less available. He's had additions that make this team stronger eg Muani, Kudus and Palinha are up-grades (IF he used them properly...) or on par with the injured outs. He now has Bergvall and Gray with valuable experience under their belts. Richarlison is in a better place.

Let me put this way: there is no way that Postecoglou would have survived his first season if he was where we are now with Frank. No way.

Agree with most of that but ‘Richarlison is in a better place’?

Everton would be a much better place for him!

Seems to be hinting that at least some players have not bought into him....

Its very hard though to go From Ange who was all about Attack , attack , attack to TF who has us parking the bus and time wasting at the Death Star from Minute 1!

Don't get me wrong , I could count on 1 hand the players I would actually want to keep, but if we are boring as fuck to watch and managing less than 1 XG most games then how fucking boring must it be for the players as well?

lol some of his comments today continue to make him look like an idiot.

Of course I hope we win tomorrow but I’m also hoping he’s edging nearer the door.

Honestly Frank is sounding like an idiot.

Backing Vicario who made a fucking horrendous mistake the other week, saying it was just one of those things. and hanging Archie out to dry saying it was a one touch pass when it's quite clearly been shown that Vicario's bobbled pass to Gray's left foot meant he couldn't play it first time

Frank really is not endearing himself to the fans with shit like this.

That’s on those fucking players to still play the game. It’s about creating chances and scoring goals. No matter what formation or structure you play in there’s always opportunities to be a threat. It’s not as though we play backs to wall stuff and try win games 1-0. That’s not how we are set up. It’s the players that are fucking hopeless at times.

You think the players enjoy so much focus on Set pieces and Long Throws?

Now he's suggesting that the fans that are questioning him, aren't the loyal ones....
I'm starting to dislike the Man, can't remember the last manager I generally didn't like , but then again I feel the same about some of the players as well, never felt such disconnect from the club, the only positive for me is I gave up the season ticket a while back so at least i'm not having to fork out thousands each year for this lot!

Newsflash: Manager publicly backs under fire player.

I can't get on the board with the whole "we finished 17th last season" as a shield for the manager. One that he's used himself..

Because the reason he has the job in the first place, is that we finished 17th. The reason we sacked the manager who was in the dugout for our first trophy in 17 years, is because 17th was an anathema. Something that couldn't happen. We rarely dropped out of the top 6 for 20 years. To finish that low was a complete absurdity that wasn't supposed to happen.

That's the reason he got this opportunity of a lifetime. So he can't use that as the barometer that he should be judged by.

I would gladly take as a compliment this accusation of not being loyal to a manager if that's indeed what he means. Thank you very much.

I don't have attachment issues that I need to find an outlet for through clinging on to a multimillionaire standing in the dugout.

I am starting to actually rethink the type of players we have. After the disaster of making Tel permanent after the poor run he had as a loanee, getting Xavi in when it was clear he is no more special than Tel, Vicario, keeping Richarlison, etc. I think we've been suffering the last 10 years from poor recruitment and poor scouting.

The current team is a group of players who suit a bottom-half-of-table team, and we are asking manager to make magic with this group and compete at the top 4 level. For a player, if you are mediocre, you are mediocre. You cannot make Foden out of Johnson. You cannot make Rice out of Bentancor, and you cannot make Raya or Courtios out of Vicario.

Because of this, the team does not have the basic spine where a manager can build around. You can say do have 2 elite CB. That's it. GK, Midfield, and Attack, are all lacking superstars. I put that mainly on Levy who presided over recruitment and scouting all these years.

This, my fellow fans, might need 3 transfer windows. I remember it took Poch something like that to sort out the mess Levy made towards the end of AVB era. Is Frank another Poch who has an eye and clear idea of what is needed to compete at the very top? That's the question. You hope the new hierarchy hires can help, but you still need a "winning-mentality" manager.

Bottom line: we have a team of mostly mediocre players, and to win, we need to get 4-5 elite talent to establish the right mentality and shape of this team.

So are we just supposed to keep firing every manager that doesn’t make the top 6 because we rarely dropped out for 20 years?

I don’t think it’s a complete absurdity we finished that low. The league is different now… we can’t get by on pure spending power we had over the other 14 clubs.

Lower budget clubs are much wealthier and have evolved and found a way to find better young players and develop them. We’ve stagnated and declined for almost 8 years now and our club has looked completely aimless when it comes to transfer policy and player development.

I’m sure there’s a better manager out there for us than Frank but I’m concerned that even the best manager only takes us from bottom half to 7th because this club has so many problems… from the executives to the medical staff to the players.

Managers can only do so much.

I like to tell you he is pretty much a bottom half of the table manager best finish is 9th, He finished 10th last year and before that 16th. On top of that their has be very little difference in results for Brentford since he left.

He's so fucking small time isn't he?! He doesn't have the ability to handle the scrutiny that comes with a big job like this.
Second time he has questioned fans, this ain't a good look for someone in 11th place where we have been embarrassed by multiple teams this season Frank. He's been over promoted and if anyone has seen that in their own place they know the sooner you correct it the better

i like frank and think he does pretty well with the media but he has to take a bit more responsibility for the quality of play or at least be a bit more honest about it. this whole 'everything is fine' routine just isn't playing and it's going to piss people off much more than if just owned up to it. it's not ten percent of disloyal, irrational fans, it's more like 50 percent are mad because we're mailing it in 2 out of every 3 matches. he seems frightened of the players unless they're teenagers.
