What’s the expectations for the new manager next season? We’ve got a really poor squad who lost 22 league games last season but also just won the Europa league. It’s a weird season. I don’t think we have the squad to win another cup and finishing 8th in the league with this squad and chairman in the current EPL climate with super ambitious mid table clubs would actually be progress tbh.

Levy sacks another manager

His message "look at me being tough, striving for excellence trying to get the perfect manager"

Real message " I'm doing this because I'm a fuckwit and the fans were being mean to me, so I'll give them what they want irrespective of the consequences - plus all I really want is a manager who can keep us top six with mid level players on relegation club salaries."
I've said it before and I'll say it again, if not for Kane and Son, Mourinho and Conte would never have come here, now we have no elite players, we're only going to attract Frank level managers. They all now know Spurs ain't going to purchase any elite players in their prime. The last time we got near that was van der Vaart 15 years ago.

The other big names we've had in regards to attacking were all signed as youngsters with potential that left when that potential was met, all bar Son.

You wouldn't want a 100% pay increase?
Apparently he's on £4.5m at Brentford, Postecoglou was on £5m.

Must admit I checked that after I posted and I'm very surprised Frank is on that much at Brentford.
He would still get a decent pay rise if came to us though

If all we wanted is top 7 then there was no need for a change in manager. Mediocrity is what the club has had for decades, it seems we are going back to it.
So what are you proposing?
That we keep a coach who has overseen utter regression in the league. Utter, unadulterated, proven, material, demonstrable regression. But won a cup.
Do you think he would win a cup every year?
We're not playing farmers next season. Even the Carbao cup is harder to win as we will be playing Liverpools, Woolwich, Cities, Villas, Newcastles, Chelseas. No bodo fucking glimpt.

So I put it to you.
What do you think happens next season if we kept Ange in charge?
Despite provable, evidenced reductions in PPG since GW11 of the 23/24 season, despite not doing much in the FA Cup 2 seasons in a row, despite getting utterly tonked by Liverpool in this seasons league cup, are you gonna tell me that we will somehow do well?
Anybody could have won this seasons Europa League if they were allowed to lose every weekend in the premier league.
And let's not ignore the fact we did it playing football that made the worst Conteball look like prime fucking Barcelona.
Every prior, and probably future coach would have been sacked long before the final, before the semi final and probably before this season even began.

Frank may not win us multiple trophies.
But neither will Ange. Ange had to go. He was headed to an early season sacking anyway so now is the right time.

The hard truth is we aren't a money club. We finished 17th. We're not expected to win the PL or the CL. We're not getting a top, top coach.

We need a coach who is good at getting the best out of a limited squad.
For all intents and purposes, Frank does fit that bill.

Based on the brutal cost cutting and anarchy at exec board and football leadership level, top 7 is aspirational. We don’t spend (vs top 6) and are badly organised (vs the next 8 eg BHA, Brentford and Bournemouth etc)

:levywtf: 🗨️The new multisports and entertainment awena will be the game changer and will allow us attwact a middling manager fwom clubs like Fulham and Bwentford

It will also allow us to put some really exciting formulae and filters in our DOFs excel sheet and find the best bargains to get us on first base.

Have you seen the movie moneyball? It will be just like that but with a stadium. We can’t lose.

I said on another forum that I thought Frank would be another Nuno... I really hope I'm wrong... My choice would have been Glasner or De Zerbi... I really hope I'm wrong though coz Frank seems a really nice bloke and his team are behind him... Maybe it will work, but we will just have to wait and see I suppose... Either way... Ange won't be out of work too long I hope... He gave us a good moment and I wish him well. 👍

The Revolt presents an issue:

We can transfer out all our best players

But we can expect success if we keep players who now hate the club

Oh dear, what a lack of strategic foresight
There will no player revolt. You see stories like this after a popular manager is sacked but the revolts never materialize … case and point below:

Modern players are mercenaries on big wages/little loyalty.

WTF is going on?
