It's a problem that might take 2, maybe even 3 coaches to fix.
Much like Ange should never have gone from proper terrible leagues like Aus, Japan and Scotland straight to the PL, I'm not sure us employing an elite title winner of a coach now could work at all. The squad and club isn't ready for that jump.
I think we need to stabilise substantially for a few years, develop the likes of Bergvall, Gray, Udogie, and other younger players to be 1st teamers and squeeze the best out of what we have until we're knocking on the door and then re-asses.
I don't think long term appointments are the norm anymore. Even with Cities bottomless pockets, they're looking like they're running out of ideas under Pep.
