club full of wingers if we also keep Tel. it'd be Gil, Tel, Mbuemo, Odobert, Johnson, Son, Soloman, Moore... then whether Richi and Kulu count.

I reckon Richie would thrive at Brentford.

He'd be top dog and for the majority of matches, he wouldn't be playing against teams that shove ten men behind the ball.

But surely supporting or endorsing a manager on that basis is just caving in and meekly accepting Levy blatantly exploiting our club and the fans.

This is what I don't get.

It's total capitulation to the regime. Like a puppy dog gratefully accepting scraps from the table because they know it's the best meal they're likely to get that day.

Woof 🐕
Buying a ticket is caving in. Thats exactly why I dont go anymore.

The thing about Frank, De Zerbi and Iraola is they benefit from being at clubs that are incredibly well run. They maximise every penny they have with good scouting and transfers.

Weve had every type of manager under the sun. Some more successful than others, but all have ultimately failed.

We are trying to copy that same approach that Brentford and Brighton use, but for some reason our transfers are crap. Thats because the key drivers of their success is the owners. Tony Bloom and Matthew Benham. They are professional gamblers and maths geniuses that have beaten the bookies consistently over the years to the tune of millions. They have their niche. Thats why those clubs over perform when it comes to plucking obscure names from nowhere and turning them into footballers worth tens or hundreds of millions.

Levy thinks he can replicate that by getting their manager. But Frank or De Zerbi are only the face of what goes on behind the scenes. In 2 years time we will be right back where we started. Frank taking the flack for Levy's cheapshow. Then we get another fall guy to start all over again.

The supporters have to band together get the parasite out of the club.

Disagree with this. I think people are just so used to seeing poor performances that they've forgotten how talented our players are.

Vicario/Kinsky
Porro/Udogie/Spence/[new signing]
Romero/VdV/Danso/Dragusin/Vuskovic/Phillips
Sarr/Bentancur/Bergvall/Madders/Gray
Kulu/Odobert/Moore/Solomon/Min Hyeok
Richi/Solanke/Johnson/Son/Scarlett

Obvs a few questions about some above and of course Gil and Davies. Lots of talented academy lads returning and on the periphery, and some coming in (irish striker?)

Personally, I only see full backs as the glaring hole as the squad stands.

Which is why I've set his target as fifth- he has a team nearly free from injuries, high on morale and unity, young players that now have valuable experience and- as you say- talent..otherwise what is the point of finishing mid-table for a club of this size?

Does that mean we're one of Europe's top clubs? By what measure?
I was originally asked why no top teams been in for Frank (implying he's just another basic manager and not a "very, very good" one... which is what I had said).

That post is one of several made to support my case that he's a very, very good manager.

Something pep acknowledged by saying what he said.

Which I haven't heard him say about any of the other manager here that he usually has nice words for.

Your question is untethered.

It will be interesting how he will manage-as is likely he will be-the demands of 4 competitions.

In his first season Postecoglou binned the cups in favour of the league-and finished fifth. In his second he binned the league and achieved a cup semi and a Europa Cup.

Both times he was citicized for for not competing in all competitions. It will be interesting to see what happens next season.

So he hasn't been picked up by a big European club yet and Pep's prediction is yet to happen? Or he is and it has. Which one is it?

Bang on. This post should get pinned.

The contention was that he was not a very good manager and that could be measured based on the fact that no "top club" had come in for him.

A flawed premise, but I generously entertained it.

Then provided information to support to my argument that he is a very good manager, including a sky journo clip where it was confirmed he was indeed being chased by top clubs*, also the pep endorsement with a rare (never heard it from him before) prediction that Frank is destined for a top euro club.

Why pep would go that far a manager that is not very, very good, I don't know.

Other than he actually means it and recognised that he is a VERY, VERY GOOD MANAGER.

Your question has nothing to do with what spawned my responses.

It's not relevant.

But you're being insistent that it is.

It's not.

This is not hard understand.

Logically yes. But if you have seen us play this last season, which you clearly haven't since you're Ange in. You would know that any manager in the world and even no manager at all would be better than Ange. even Erik Hamrén.
But I'm leaving this discussion now. Ange is gone. Us Ange Out-ers won.
A false declaration until Frank wins something mate

All in all I'm very happy if it's Frank.

Overall I think I have him as my No. 3 choice a month ago. I'd have Inzaghi as my top choice, but he was always following the big money and was never a reality, I'd have Xavi 2 as I think that would have been an ambitious swing with high upside (also high potential disaster, but I love his possibilities with this club) and Frank a strong third.

Frank checks all the boxes and really has a chance to thrive in a club like ours with his tactical abilities and making the whole better than the sum of it's parts. It was a big drop for me after that top 3, so if we don't at least get Frank, I'll be upset.

A couple of things:

There's no justification for coupling Brentford with Brighton. Brighton have sustained success across several managers. Brentford haven't shown any real success outside of Frank.

You're clearly forgetting the years before Poch. This club bought and sold better than Brighton or Brentford. The reality is its exponentially harder to go from mid table to competing for/in the CL and another factor more difficult to go from the battle for 4th to fighting for the title.

We've made lots of mistakes, and Levy has been to blame for tons of our issues and stumbles. But there's not a lot in the quoted post that actually hits the mark.

ritchie doesn't have the speed & agility of mbueno for a blistering counter attack
doubt he wil suit Brentford.

having played ange horse-shoe ball for 2 seasons - can the spurs team adapt with direct football?
BJ will suit?
Son will suit. but he's leaving.
VDV..but he is a CB
