But the stuff Ange has won doesn’t count according to some Japan, Australia & SPL is no REAL trophies even the Europa league we won cos every other team in the competition was rank.

Mourinho and Conte came to Spurs laden with trophies from much tougher leagues. Didn't mean anything.

Poch and Redknapp got the best tune out of our players. They'd won 1 trophy between them.

Surprised Ange got the chop. I thought he would be a much better coach from this seasons experience. To borrow a line from any given Sunday- "that's football gentleman that's all it is".

Anyway not the new blokes fault, and he deserves the respect to be supported until proven otherwise.

Good luck Mr Frank. You will definitely need some.

I'd have been willing to believe that if he showed much in the way of adaptation in league matches over the last two years. He did in the final Europa rounds sure, but in the league he seemed to think any change in style was an affront to his ideals. I dont see why next season would have been much different

I've just never seen any of our games against Brentford and thought "wow, I'd like some of that". I'm sure people could do a social media clip of nice combination plays from them in these matches, like you could for any team/manager, but no aspect of their play has ever really piqued my interest. The set-piece routines might be useful (if that's within his remit) I guess.

In fact that 2-0 win we had at their place this season, after we'd lost every game for what felt like an eternity, where all they did was just wildly hoof it into our box at every opportunity, was the one game that sticks out where I thought "you poor fuckers, if this is the sort of stuff you have to watch every week."

All teams play a bit of footy at times, and can knock the ball about. But his football to me seems pragmatic, fairly physical/athletic, direct, and whilst tactically sound it's a bit basic. Undoubtedly a competent manager who's done an excellent job with Brentford, who probably would offer some stability and raise the floor on the back of what Ange has done.... but I've never seen anything that would scream good style of play for a top club, or lead to some sumptuous football at the least.

I can recall before we signed Nuno Espírito Santo quite a lot of people on here were saying that Potter was their choice but when he was asked about it by a journalist he said that he wanted to stay at Brighton. The following season he joined Chelsea.

The same can be said of Slot who turned us down when holding out for Liverpool.

The only managers from those teams who would turn the Spurs job down are those that decide to stay for personal reasons such as family being settled, those who aren't truly that close to getting the job and merely linked or those holding out for a job that in their eyes is better than the Spurs job.

I don't think Potter was ever really linked enough to say he was a serious contender for the job and if he was then he did it to wait for a big fish to come along that appealed to him like the Chelsea job or Slot with Liverpool.

Lol you know its more than that right??

Just look at this.

Thought we were discussing Frank but you seem stuck on Ange who is gone. Im just saying if our new manager cant beat the shit then he should go the same way as Ange.

Isn’t Sonny on £200k per week, so not completely unheard of for us to do that salary?

With a bit of luck Mbeumo may consider remaining in London, playing Champions League (baby), for a manager he knows is maybe a more attractive package than just counting the filthy lucre in a rainy Manchester.

Apparently we are paying Timo £170k a week so not out of the question

Frank coached a win that day...

Agreed but I don't think managers of those clubs go to bed every night dreaming about managing Spurs, especially now that Son is about finished and we don't have an elite attacking player in the squad.
