The Ange era was so dire and the demands on the players so unreasonable that I'm not sure there's anyone who we got the best out of, even when healthy.

I think everyone should get a fair chance under the new regime to prove themselves and to see what Frank can get out of them. Players like Biss and Sarr, Udogie, Spence and more have a ceiling they would never have reached under Ange. I am looking forward to seeing what a proper manager and system can get out of them.
ange ball really did no favors for biss, bentancour and sarr and i think a coach who can get them to build their game around what they each do best and another defensive minded cm in the wanyama mode to support them will really help them flourish

No such thing as 'Ange ball' and if there is/was, it was rubbish.

There is winning football and losing football. That's it.

Last season we had a ot of 'Lose games' Too fcuking many.

He's always been that shape tbh. Not a bulky guy for a holding midfielder.

probably the only Soccerstarz figure that was accurately proportioned

I remember these powerpodz! Used to nick them in Woolworths and they came in a chocolate egg. I got Henry & Wiltord once and my dad snapped the heads off them lol. Classic dad.

Ange ball was real. Only it disappeared when Chris Davies started taking a step back ever since he started getting offers from Jan 2024 onwards

In all honesty, we have not really played with inverted fullbacks 'properly' since he left. In 2024/25, we played a water down version of it. Porro & Udogie used to be so much involved in build up phase so much in Ange first 6-8 months. But after that, we dont have a buildup phase.

I think Bissouma could be a key player for Frank tbh - he showed a lot of character in the Europa KO games and we wouldn't have won it without him. After the season and a half he had before I think he really showed something.
If hes up for the fight wouldn't mind him staying at all. Bent and Bergvall of course important as well and add one destroyer and our midfield is fine under a new coach.

Absolutely terrific post.

Do you know what. I think I've reached the end of my tether with "fans" who can't seem to take pride in our MAJOR cup win last season.

I understand wanting Ange gone because of his league record. I completely understand that.

What I don't understand is people wanting to, as you say, poo-poo our trophy win in an effort to make their posts/opinions seem more valid.

I am STILL buzzing that we won a major european trophy, and I don't give a fuck who we played or how we won it. Elite level football is about winning trophies, and most teams need some kind of luck to go their way.

Genuinely at the point where I'd rather post in a relative echo-chamber of positivity than read some of the bilge these posters come out with on a daily basis.

The genuine fans are obvious on here, ones like yourself who no doubt are still smiling about the cup win.

I'm still having random people coming up to me in the street saying "European champs!" when they see my Spurs shirt (s).

......I've barely worn anything else since that night. 🥳

Frank's CM do what Bissouma does but more importantly... he likes to have mid to long distance passing midfielders in his lineup; Bissouma does not have a long passing game. So, I cant see him under Frank

166 pages so far, can we have a sweepstake to how many pages we get to before we confirm / deny Thomas' appointment? At least that will make the waiting a bit more bearable.

I'm 40 now so I'm well and truly into the weird nostalgia phase of life. I've collected pretty much every games console I use to have, but I get real pangs about all my football cards and mini figures I had as a kid.

Somewhere in the last 7-10 years ago - I think it might have been Euro 2016 - I picked up a sticker book from Sainsburys to get back into that, and noticed on the back page it basically allowed you to buy the stickers individually by post. I was outraged until I realised you could always do that. Felt like one of those moments at the end of a film where the main character realised that the killer was someone close to them/they were dead the whole time/the other person didn't exist. All those days doing got/got/need taking a block of Justin Edinburgh, Neilsens, and Clemences to school, when all you actually needed was a few quid and a stamp

Benny is another one, agree completely. Almost forget how much he's had to deal with in injuries in recent times, but I have always liked his presence and on his day he's been great for us.

Even thinking back to when he was at Brighton, I really liked him and was really excited about the signing.
