I suspect Ange had other coaches who were not named. Plus of course Ryan Mason left to join WBA as their manager

But it does look as if Frank has a much better team working for him

Can you imagine Ange sitting down in a war room with full coaching team and getting analysts to present where the tactics went wrong?

I didn't get the impression, at all, that he believed in that. No tweaks, just ask the team to be better next time.

Think harder about the person who brought you here!

No, because the tactics were never the problem. His 'one size fits all' approach works every time unless the players fail him or they are unlucky. Just ask him. :ange-confused:

The flipside of this is that you can wind up chasing your own tail trying to custom-build tactics for every opponent.

Balance and flexibility in all things

Wait until they clock that being adaptable IS a coaching philosophy in exactly the same way that focusing on your own game is and there are numerous examples in every sport where a coach has been successful with either philosophy

I tried to log into SC recently, with my email address (which I probably posted some kind of hello and very little a decade ago), with the right password etc. and the site no longer loads when I try to access.

So I think I might be banned on SC for thoughtcrime.

It happened on COYS because I didn't post, but it had weird rules about what you could post - it had to be original, and not spam, and couldn't offend anyone or be negative, and had to be a certain rate of posts per day. It felt like a stressful job and sometimes there was nothing to say, so I fell foul of the "culling" rules:

Sod that for a game of soldiers!

Frank said: “It’s my voice that is the main voice at the training ground, and then I think, can I develop a little bit? So sometimes, can we get a new coach into the coaching team, also come with a new drill, so it’s always a little bit refreshing things — so I’m aware of that. The style, I need to change things to also keep myself on it.”

Lineker replied: “Hence the shift this season [at Brentford].”

Frank: “Yeah so that’s a little bit back to my mindset, I always wanted to play offensive football and we started last season, it’s a combination of what’s best for the players we’ve got, we have this style, but what kind of players, because I can’t pick all the best players in the world.

“So that’s one thing, but to also keep developing the team, so this season for example we’ve got Mikkel Damsgaard in the team — give something different to the team, add something, and I think it added a good layer.”

Frank’s praise for Damsgaard is very revealing, given what we have heard over the last 24 hours.

According to reports, Tottenham are keen on adding Damsgaard to their squad, with Frank believing that he will add some much-needed creativity and technical quality to the Lilywhites midfield.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is also on the radars of Inter Milan, Napoli, Aston Villa, Newcastle and West Ham United, but Frank’s arrival could give the North Londoners a big advantage in the transfer pursuit.
