Not even close, the hatred cult was way more obsessed. It’s worse since we won EL too

Ironically everyone that was backing Ange has moved on to backing Frank and we’re just watching the clock until they decide they hate Frank

You guys wanna find a room? It’s not the cry because people were mean about my hero thread.

Cheers. Oh and nobody will hate Frank as he’s a likeable bloke, not an egomaniac, and we will all be backing him to do well 👍.

What will be the defining factor for that do you believe? Are you of the mind that a certain subset of the fanbase is merely on a set timer before they go from current manager in to current manager out regardless of performance? Or are you suggesting Frank will underperform expectations as Spurs manager? Would the latter mean those people were wrong to then want Frank out as manager? Is there a set point at which it is ok to want a manager out of the club?

Just asking because you guys seem to be the moral authority on what is and isn't ok with regards to managerial support. As for obsession I bet I can tell without even looking who's got the most posts in the last 10 pages of the Ange thread.

You must be new here.

Some people might. But he’s actually nice. There was much less anger towards Nuno. Frustration and a feeling he wasn’t competent but not nearly as much hate. Because he was a decent guy.

People might decide Frank isn’t it .. which is fine, football managers shouldn’t be a cult of worship, but I would be surprised if we saw much abuse.

I’d say a combination of the following:

Lack of patience

Susceptibility to instantly gratifying media and internet narratives

A lack of information about club decisions that negatively impact a coaches ability to impact their ideas.

Poor results on the pitch (this is always #1)

Is that a bit like the people saying if he doesn't get top 4 and win a trophy first season he's a failure? No danger of letting him build a project over 2-3 years then?
Susceptibility to instantly gratifying media and internet narratives
Hilarious considering you flip-flopped from Ange in to Ange out back to Ange in again after the cup win.

Not sure what this even means tbh.

Bit negative to preclude results will be poor isn't it? Sounds like you're assuming Frank isn't up to the task before he's even got going to me.

Yep totally negative

1. The frustration with another new project is directed at the club not the new coach. But the same people that went Ange out early, will turn on the coach again instead of the club.

2. Yup, I went Ange out eventually but did hold out for months when everyone bought into the first 10 games BS. It was the same with Conte and “unsustainable”. It will be something else with Frank and the same people going in early.

3. Exactly

4. I’m not assuming the results will be bad, I’m hoping they won’t. My point is that above all, if results aren’t great then instant gratification narratives to explain results take hold.

Look where we were in this graph. I am excited to see us moving away from this position. I think we need more physicality in the team though.

I have a few mates in Denmark who tell me the country is very excited about Frank being given such a high profile job. It’s not like Ange and the Aussie fandom levels but a lot of Danes will follow and hope we win now .

Far more interest than when we had peak Eriksen apparently
So I see Levy cunning masterplan now. First is capturing the Korean/Asian market with Son, then the Oceania region with Ange, and now the Scandinavia with Frank.. No wonder we have been eyeing Jonathan David for so long for him to be the market representative of North America.

I'll be judging Frank on the eye test personally. I think that matters more than anything. If I like what I'm watching and can see what we're building I'll be Frank in at the end of season 2. If we are quantifiably worse to watch than we ever have been at any point in my entire lifetime, as we were under Ange in the league for the entirety of last season, I will be Frank out. Seems simple enough.
