Delighted that we have finally brought in a proper manager and a proper backroom staff.
It makes me wonder just what the club was doing 2 years ago when we hired Ange and then hired a bunch of crap coaches, some of us highlighted it as far back as October 2023 that it looked like a potential issue with our structure.
I have absolutely no doubts that the coaching the players have been receiving the last two years has been a mess.
It's been evident all over the pitch.
Interesting that we retained a couple of coaches in Wells and Burch, I am guessing we were impressed with them and decided they weren't blaggers like the others.
Although in saying that, maybe we've been too harsh on the backroom staff under Ange. I saw somewhere that the coaches weren't happy at having to implement Ange's philosophy into the players as they felt it simply was uncoachable. If that's the case, we can let them off.
Ultimately the blame lies with Ange. I just never understood how a manager can get by without having a team of trusted assistants around him. Particularly when he isn't a coach himself. You just walk into a PL club, with a specific philosophy and way of playing, hire a bunch of strangers, and then task them with implementing that style. What could go wrong?
Sorry, but that sounds so amateur hour and a recipe for disaster.
I genuinely think Ange vastly overestimated his own ability, and underestimated the quality of the PL.
It's hard to have any sort of opinion on the what happens on the training ground as we are so in the dark over what happens there and we only see the fruits of it on the pitch. But still we do have little bits of insight, like I did pick up early on that Ange kept refering to how he 'trains differently to everyone else' and that 'everything they do is with the ball' and along with the Dier comments regarding there being no tactical work in preparation for matches - there's enough there to raise questions over what was going on. Whatever regarding the coaches at his disposal - that's his choice to work in that manner tbf
I so wanted it to work, I love the idea of having an attacking manager and mostly with us it does work (see Pochettino or Redknapp) but he couldnt adapt the framework.
We played 433 high press like Klopp but with the full backs inverted and wingers pushed wide. It was 1/3 Klopp, 1/3 AVB, 1/3 Madness. If he would just have kept the full backs wide, let the wide men play in more and set up us more compact it’s Klopp’s system. It’s like he was 70/80% there but refused to fix the final bits. He could inspire players, he wanted to attack but he kept the worst aspects of his system and wouldn’t change them.
Yeah agree it's great news it's goneFucking hell dead the Ange talk you absolute obsessed weirdos, go and get a hobby.
Same old pointless arguments, who gives a fuck he's gone now.

Tel has cost us £40m plus 5m.
“They need to move away from the model that made them pay £150m combined for Richarlison, Brennan & Solanke”
The problem with that model wasn’t the £150m part, it was the dickheads who decided what to spend it on.
Yes, €35/£30, plus,€10/£8.5 loan, plus €5m in potential add-ons.
Those add Ons are probably wins golden boot and scores 25 CL goals or something mental
Do we know the loan fee isn’t included in the total? Surely the original agreement was loan with option so that loan fee would be part of the total
It’s €10 loan fee and €35 transfer, plus €5 adds according to media.
If you don’t concede goals, you don’t lose games. That’s the starting point.I want every manager to work, even if I have my doubts.
Even if things aren't going great, I'm looking for seeds of improvement to have hope.
You could see it with some but it was pretty much all downhill for this one. First 10 games were nothing more than an unknown quantity. We struggled to beat a useless Sheff United and a 9 man Liverpool in that period, let's not forget.
We also drew 2-2 away to Brentford and looked a bit shakey away to Bournemouth with their newly appointed Iraola.
I'm happy for Frank to go the other way tbh. If we get off to another 10 game flyer it may mask problems and everyone gets too carried away.
I'd almost rather we had a mundane start. The way things are I'd say a few 0-0's, 1-0's and 0-1's tbh.
I've thought for years and years that even an attacking team is built on a strong, dependable defence. If the forwards trust the defence, they can be more adventurous.
I just want to make sure I'm first to the party.
The second lose a match, and turn on Frank, demanding he be fired can we all agree on the nickname = Tommy Tank?
