Two things.

1. Romero is clearly not the runaway leader to be captain. He hasn’t been chosen yet and Frank highlighted the ability to communicate as important. He might still get it but I wonder if he’s also considering Deki. How is Vicario’s English? Maddison surely out of the running now.

2. People have leapt on Ali Gold’s characterisation of his words; buying players if there is the right « opportunity ». But that’s not how Frank put it. I think it’s more that he only wants players who can improve the first team and doesn’t want to settle for signings that arent good enough.

That’s a good thing.

Deki wont be available until December so it wont be him. I think it'll be Romero. I hope he doesn't pick Palhinha.

Is this Levy you're talking about, or his 16th and current managerial whipping boy?
I doubt you could find a single supporter who truly thinks Levy is doing a great job but Levy ain’t going anywhere so there’s no point in spending any amount of oxygen on it.

I expect Frank to finish between 7-9 and if he’s unable to achieve that, it will definitely be a below average campaign, regardless of the ins and outs.

Watching Romero tear into the officials at half time for their ludicrous decisions was the highlight of the game to be honest.

I wonder what next season final positions will be enough for Frank to survive?

We're all thinking the best we can get is 8th - but what about Levy - managers have been sacked for finishing higher up the table than 8th so I wonder how low the bar is this time around.

If we finish 8th, go out of the Champions League at the first stage and go a couple of rounds in the two cups, will that be enough to satisfy Levy that Frank is the man?

Or will he see that as failure?
