Assuming that he'll manage to address this traffic cone defense that he inherited from the previous regime, he should oversee a significant overall improvement based on that alone.

We'll definitely be less "entertaining" this season compared to the previous two, entertainment being defined as scoring and conceding a lot, but then getting destroyed every single week for months wasn't really fun.

That frontline is really underwhelming at the moment though, that goes without saying.

Def can't judge the poor man for this window we are letting him down so far imagine going into psg with practically the same team as last year minus son

So minus 0 starters (Son) plus 2 starters (Kudus and Palhinha) :) ?

If my math is correct, it would be result of +2 ?

Not saying that it would be enough, considering everything. But the frustration of squad quality is more about "what could have been" not about actually getting weaker / staying exactly the same.

If we get spanked by PSG, you got to feel for the poor bugger.

On a hiding to nothing.
I'd be happy with a 2 goal loss..under ange it would be 4/5...just so long as we're not battered...we might even force a draw. Feel bad for TF...1st important game and he's still having to work with what he inherited from AP....looking forward to Burnley though...should win that...

I genuinely think the idea that we were ‘entertaining’ under Ange is one of the biggest myths around this club in years.

I reckon players on both sides will be holding back because they don't want to get injuries. It's also likely to be hot in August there.

For sure.

A good portion of the first season was spent with us dominating possession each game for the hell of it, only to turn it over in dangerous areas and get caught in transition as a result. This possession-heavy football was appealing to some people after JM and Conte days, but it got old pretty quickly. It wasn't less boring than what the aforementioned two were serving during their tenures in fact.

First few months of the second season went the same way before things took a turn for the much worse, and at least as far as the league is concerned never recovered.

Some people were so traumatized by JM and Conte that they were willing to welcome any high line, possession-based manager with open arms. Ange just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Frank has the time, I hope. But be careful what you wish for - in keeping us more defensively sound, playing low block and soaking up the attack for over an hour against bigger teams wouldn't go down well for too long either.

We mostly looked fragile as hell and mostly lost too.
Any solid Championship player could sail through our (mostly non existent) midfield on his own.

90% was an utter shitshow. But there were some stand-out games too. Most was total shit though.
