Didn't mind Odobert as he as inexpensive punt. The rest. No, no, no, no. The only one who's won me around is BJ, but even then, he can definitely be improved on and was a huge overpay.
He's barely a footballer at all!!!! he can't pass. can't cross. can't dribble. can't tackle. can't shoot from distance. you could plant a scarecrow in a spurs shirt in the opposition box for balls to bounce off and it would do a better job than brennan johnson

That’s the premier league these days for sure.

But at the same time, I think we sometimes overrate the past. The baseline level skill is much much higher these days. IMO the issue is the individuality. Players all have the ability to execute the same analytics friendly skills
You think skill level is higher nowadays mate???

Cunts can do 37 step overs and run faster and that’s it.

The lack of skill in the game is frightening. You could count on one hand how many midfielders can actually receive the ball and go by a midfielder with the ball to take them out the game. Strikers don’t create chances for themselves out of nothing. Wingers can’t skip by full backs for fun and deliver crosses.

I can’t agree with you on this one mate.

Feel like we are saying the same thing

I’m saying at the baseline, there’s no absolute cloggers these days. Everyone can do enough basic technical skills to make use of their physical gifts but at the top end, way less mavericks and genius players.

Watch 90’s football, it was horrific outside about 3 brilliant technicians on each team

But there was at least 3 in each team. Now you’re lucky if there’s 3 in the league.
The 80s was full of brilliant players who made the game entertaining on any kind of pitch. If these players nowadays don’t have a perfect pitch they’d struggle to actually control the ball let alone create on it.

Hmm. Not a fan of the new guy then? What makes you think the squad currently is good enough?
To be clear, just because I think fifth is achievable with the current squad doesn't mean I think it's easy, or automatic. I just think a really high quality manager might do it.

I like Frank, and I want us to do well under him, but I think as a manager he's currently a level below what we need. Hopefully, he'll grow into the role, and becomes a top manager with us, but I have my doubts.

I do find it interesting that those on here who refused to accept that European football, and key injuries led to our poor performance in the League last season, are quite happy to offer up the same excuses for our new manager, even before the season's started.

I haven't seen anybody at all say Frank is off the hook if he finishes 17th and loses twice as many games as he wins, and losing more at home than he wins.

I do wished the people who just want to warble incessantly about how unfair it all is on Ange just did so in his own thread.

We were absolutely battered 4-0, and it could've been much worse only a few days ago. I'd keep expectations in check.

Cant See Cheech Marin GIF

Not expectations...just blind optimism..

He scores a goal, unlike the rest of them. And, as I said, could easily be relied upon. The others are stone useless.
A diabetic paraplegic is more effective than Tel, which is the big head scratcher.

He really is a tough watch.
But the ball bounced off him for our 1st trophy in 17 years and not this scarecrow dude 😜

He should be a sub coming on at 70 to 80 minutes à la solskjaer for man utd

If he is still a regular starter this season it will be tough. But he is already a cult hero

:johnsonshh:
He plays on the right
He plays on the right
Brennan johnson
He plays on the right

And then he will score 30 goals playing LW
No worries
;)
